The comedy story follows a group of eccentric color-coded girls where each have their own quirks, it is lighthearted and playful with tropes. Both also has similar themes of being a student in some school, and how the gangs is somewhat the best and also the worst of the team of the academy.

Almost the same show. Four girls, unbelievably moe, and hilarious.

At first glance both of them seem to be anime for kids but after a few episodes you´ll notice that they are definitely seinen

Very similar types of humor. Excel is a bit more energetic and adult.. but not by much in either category.
report Recommended by Sariffice
Both are about unlucky girl-only squads in absurd comedic situations.

Milky Holmes pokes fun of the classic type of mystery that shows up in Detective Conan series. The original Sherlock is also mentioned at times.

Both of these shows start off with the pretense of having a story but quickly devolves into comedies where the main characters are incapable of accomplishing anything. Both also involve humor based on all the main characters being idiots. Milky Holmes is the funnier of the two.

Both animes have people with special powers. In Gakuen Alice those powers are called Alice. In Milky Holmes those are called Toys

Both show feature cute protagonists with pink hair and autism.

Both are dedective animes and they both have cute drawings

You may think of it as a bit of a stretch, but I found a lot of likeable similar elements between the two. While PSG is obviously made for an adult crowd with lots of obvious adult humor and jokes, with watching Milky Holmes it's quite obvious that it's a gag anime very much aimed at an adult crowd, and not in the lolicon way. The two share a lot of crude/silly humor and star a cast of (basically) idiots doing idiotic things with other idiots. If you're looking for something that follows that same set of "stupid adult humor" and don't mine more crudeness, PSG  read more

Let's just say that these animes are about detectives? Okay? Now tantei opera milky Holmes is about 4 girls while Kamisama no memochou has about like 10 girl / guy . Tantei opera is Moe so you can't compare this to Kamisama how ever i still recommend this.

Milky Holmes actually does have a plot, no matter how wimpy and lame. Both contain a sort of moe theme as it is the relationship of a group of girls who make bad puns, and get locked into stupid situations that just don't make sense. While the anime themselves are fairly different, the comedy is very similar.

Even in a not-so-perfect world, these two series seem to be more well-connected than any other show on this list. Wild, zany, cute, and overflowing with energy, that's what defines these two shows. These shows are a pretty good definition of anime comedy, and if you've seen any one of them and love laughing to the point where you end up having to pause the video just to catch your breath, then stop reading and click the play button already. It'll also help a bit if you didn't take them so seriously.

Both shows heavily relies on obscured comedy with cute girls as main characters. They both are really unique and share a lot of similarities in how they handle the comedy. There's a big chance that you'll like Komugi-chan if you like Milky Holmes or vice versa.

Two cute anime which looks can be quite deceiving. Underneath the cute appearances are straight-up non-sense comedies. If you're looking for anime with random comedy and a lot of non-sense, these fit the description. Although they look like girly animations they hardly have cute moments. Dumb and delusional characters that are constantly fighting and overreacting, weird events and lack of logic. But the most important similarity is how the characters completely ignore their main goal (Milky Holmes not caring about getting their powers back or becoming great detectives and Kasumi not caring about improving her English skills at all) and just do pointless stuff instead.

Both are underrated, low-budget, but hilarious animes.

Both Milky Holmes have the same director, this reflects in the surreal comedy which is very much similar. There is a character in Pripara and a Character in Milky Holmes which are very similar

Despite having very different art styles, there are actually key similarities between these two shows. To start off, both shows feature "battles between good and evil" in non-sense worlds with superpowers and low amounts of action. In a way, the Milky Holmes detective team reminds me of Sunred since they're in similar situations as they both fell from glory and now live a very unsatisfactory life. Sunred and some of the Milky Holmes team also share similar bad tempers unfitting heroes of their status. Furthermore, the villain in both shows is more kindhearted than the actual heroes and you cannot avoid cheering for them as they  read more

Both are on the lighthearted side and about detectives and thieves. Even though Kaitou Joker is about the thieves and Milky Holmes is about the detectives, both are animes you can enjoy without a serious mood.

4 girls-Best friends(K-on!, Azusa is excluded from this recommendation :P) 1. K-on! and Milky Holmes is mainly on the fun and laughter the 4 friends bring, but not the main thing that brings them together.(K-on!-Light Music Club, Milky Holmes-Academy and good friends as detectives) They display similar character traits, like Mio-Herc(Elly), Yui-Sherlock(Sheryl), Ritsu-Nero, Mugi-Cordelia. More on friendship than main theme.

Bushiroad weird wacky comedy with absurd and crazy situations.
report Recommended by SanaeK10
Both shows have really daft comedy that goes over the top, and involves young girls being stupid, undignified, and getting beat up by each other (or an animal).
report Recommended by ramenshoujo
Both anime features supposedly the female decedents of Sherlock Holmes and Arsene Lupin.

CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan + Zettai Karen Children = Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Take the characters in Zettai Karen Children and in the concept of a Detective School like CLAMP, you get TOMH
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Cute girls, panty humour, things that are out of a crack fic... a good, well written crack fic that is.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
You've got four girls with simular personalities as Amu's Chara. Though later on it becomes different. The clover symbal is also evident in teh begining and it has a bright coloring style to it.

CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan + Zettai Karen Children = Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is a lot less dry then CLAMP, but it has the abilities of ZKC... not to mention some of the humour in there. An enteresting mix.

Both start out innocently enough, and then go into WTF territory. Both are strange and random and not meant for kids, despite appearances. Shinobu actually reminds me of Sherlock (even the same color hair!).
report Recommended by Nek0
Very similar humour, cute and dumb girls doing crazy and stupid things. Both also happen to gender-bend famous (historical) characters but it's mostly the similar humour and the cuteness factor.

In both of these Anime, you don't know what the main characters are going to do next. In Level E, you have a highly intelligent alien who becomes bored with life and causes trouble, and in Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, you have four girls who lack intelligence who try hard to help people, thus causing trouble.

Softenni and Milky Holmes are more alike than what it seems. Yes, the first is about a club of soft tennis when the latter is about a bunch of detective girls, but the feel is definitely the same: they both share a cast of cute and stupid girls, with slapstick humor and crazyness everywhere.
report Recommended by Sayuri92
Another comedy about a group of incompetent girls with superpowers supervised by a big breasted adult, and an obvious reference for Hacka Dolls --there are winks to Milky Holmes right in the opening animation. Milky Holmes (seasons 1 and 2 only) is like the crazy uncle to the more subdued Hacka Dolls.
report Recommended by Gersen
Both anime take place in a school of sorts, and focuses on the interaction between an all female cast in an always comedic tone.
report Recommended by Touhouman
Wacky slapstick comedies with cutesy art styles about four female friends with different funny personalities. The girls in both are just trying to survive the misfortunes thrown at them and end up in hilarious situations.

Obviously, the plotline and genre of these two shows very starkly contrast with each other, with Tantei Opera Milky Holmes being a comedic and mild action title, and Tamayura ~Hitotose~ being purely a slice-of-life with very light comedic undertones. However, the primary characters of both titles very much remind me of each other. In Milky Holmes, Sherlock is the air-headed leader, Cordelia is the boisterous one, Hercule is the quiet one, and Nero is the tsukkomi; in Tamayura, Fu, Norie, Maon, and Kaoru, respectively, fill these roles. The Milky Holmes characters are more lively and zany than the mostly mild Tamayura characters, but, regardless, their  read more

Both shows carry that permanent comical and upbeat tone of absurd situations and fanciful, imaginative circumstances that let jokes flowing out of each episode. They almost never take themselves seriously while carrying a blatant, frontal, and absolutely NOT subtle sense of humor. If heavy comedy priding itself in being silly is what you're looking for, you probably should be watching it.

If you're looking for some detective fiction, then these two series are for you. Although presented differently, these two series have some tastes of mystery in them. Both series has a cast of characters who are eager to become detectives. Both series has a lot of comedy, drama, and some mystery here and there. Both series also follows an episodic theme.
