Hypothetically, if I were ever to be cryogenically frozen in the hope of people from the future coming up with a cure for a fictional, incurable disease, I would feel a tad concerned. Why? Because anime has taught me that whenever a character does so, they wake up at some undetermined date with the apocalypse seemingly having occurred whilst sleeping - with the character forgotten - and there being very angry, man-eating creatures prowling around. As well as healthy plant overgrowth. I would opt to go back to sleep until the world unbuggers itself, personally. The above is the premise of both series, by the way:  read more

There are similar themes of nature taking over, although for different causes and reasons. The main characters in both films also strike a few similarities: one being that they suddenly find themselves involved in a situation seemingly beyond their control and that they both have someone very close to them, someone they would go to the ends of the earth for.

The premise of both Parasyte and King of Thorn are similar, there are parasitical organism that enters earth and begins feeding on humans. Albeit King of Thorn focuses it on a smaller scale with less people. There are much more differences other than this single similarity.

The main character is introduced to a situation and setting in which everyone is in danger of dying by otherworldly means, and has to try to escape from the situation. In order to achieve this, they must figure out a) what the fuck is going on and b) who is behind it all. Both animes start with a large group of characters but by the end most have been thinned out and few survive. Another's ending and answer to the mystery is pretty conclusive... but King of Thorn just leaves you with more unanswered questions.

The movie and the show does involve staples of a sci fi concepts, like cryo sleep, immoral human experiments, as well as small humber of people, trying to survive the harsh environment.

Ibara no Ou and Bloodivores are about a ragtag group of characters that are locked away and wake up some time later to find out their world has heavily changed. Both anime has monsters that hunt everyone down by the masses and the audience must figure out what happened.

They both have legend base story. They both have main character as a girl. Both stories are acceptingly heart whelming and beautiful with a unique romance and are somewhat adventurous in my opinion .The characters had lost something important in their lives and try to regain it but they only made it worse what they had. Characters suddenly find themselves involved in a situation seemingly beyond their control and that they both have someone very close to them, someone they would go to the ends of the earth for.

Both shows deal with making their imaginations become a reality (which is key in both). The main characters in both have an extremely similar "background". Both deal with a major company serving as the antagonist of the series, who on the outside seems good but actually has evil ulterior motives.

"What is real, what is dream?"-type of movies. If you liked Inception you should check these out.

Equally confusing and overdone ending. Just before the ending you really start to admire the movie/series but once the ending comes, it turned out you didn't knew anything and still don't know anything. And also the vision of the end of world.

Both are movies that are fictionally adapted from stories that we all read/heard as kids.

In both anime there's a sci-fi themed prison-like area; deadly virus; group of people struggling to survive; at the end it turns out to be an unexpected twist.
