Legend of Basara

Attention this rec might contain minor spoilers. Both anime display some similarities: - An important member of the heroine's family is killed, ultimately leading her to her change of path. - A main guy who used to be kind but then became a cruel king. - The heroine seems weak at first but later becomes a strong leading lady. - The heroine cuts her hair and becomes the leader of a large group. - Heroine adopts a small animal. - Romance.  

Both have a fantasy setting, though Juuni Kokuki has more of an ancient China like setting while Legend of Basara has more of a medieval one and both have strong female leads whom are seen as "the chosen ones". 

-The female protagonist fights against the king. -The romance subplot is quite the same in both the series. -Action in both of them.  

Technically, one is a post-apocalyptic anime mirroring the past, while the other is a bona fide historical one about ancient warfare. And yet both begin with a journey to vengeance which develops into a tale of grand proportions. Both involve large scale conflict, though Basara's centres around a revolution while Kingdom's is more militaristic. And whereas Basara takes place in an entirely fictional future-Japan, Kingdom is based on China's warring states period. Naturally, both include a lot of political intrigue and explore government systems. Both have a large cast of colourful individuals as characters, who are all complex and are developed to varying extents. There's a surprising amount of emphasis given to the concept of 'understanding the enemy' (a rewarding experience). The characterisation can be safely referred to as the best aspect of both anime. Incidentally, both have their manga counterparts which only gets better post-anime (and this especially true for the much shorter Basara), so I highly recommend reading them. Both feature protagonists that become the leader and symbol of hope in a rebellion, whilst maintaining a close relationship to someone on the opposing side. These protagonists often achieve their goals through ridiculous or outrageous schemes that the other side was not expecting. 

Both series have a "chosen one" as the protagonist and evil leaders as their enemies, who seek him to kill him. They also coincide in showing the protagonist's journey, with his fights, personal improvement and adventures, in which he will find allies and enemies. 

The same kind. 

I believe its similar with the family revenge and the long journey to meet friends along the way. They are both about land and war and time settings is similar. 

sister takes place in the journey of dead twin brother the girl falls in love with the evil guy without knowing his true identity 

In both there´s ancient and futuristic elements together and both have mithology. Also, the main girl dresses as a boy and is the leader of a revolution against an empire that reigns with cruelty and killed her family. Later,she falls in love with her enemy.  

Sarasa and Utena are brave girls who lost their families at a young age and now have to start a revolution. Both are fighters who dress up as boys.  

They are both about women trying to lead their people and both are quite good 

Legend of Basara and Fushigi Yuugi have many things in common. Both are Romance and Drama shows with a little bit adventure, and these animes give you the same feeling while are watching. Both are good
