Two short pieces about soldiers at war. Buki yo Saraba features great animation, high tech war, and gives you a feeling that there is are some ideas and thoughts that people who made it were trying to give you, the viewer. Cat Shit One is more of a mindless action variety, CGI animated, featuring plushies with guns. Buki yo Saraba looks like it deals with some kind of a post apocalyptic civil war, while Cat Shit One looks more like the type of war western soldiers were experiencing at Middle East in recent years.

Birthday Boy and Cat Shit One are both short anime about war done in CGI. Cat Shit One concentrates more on action while Birthday Boy is more of a slice-of-life though, but they're still rather similar.

Both are military anime which focus on a group of commandos sent on a dangerous mission in a secluded area. Both have a semi-realistic depiction of war, with the main different being that Gundam has mecha elements, while Cat Shit One has anthropomorphic animals. Overall, both are action-packed and have a similar atmosphere.

Althrought made differently, both share same, fairly uncommon theme: otherwise cute animals taking part in armed conflict (Bunnies in Cat Shit One, Penguins in Penguin's Memory: Shiawase Monogatari), so there big chance that if you liked one, you´ll like another. While Cat Shit One is more action, Penguin's Memory is more drama.

Both have non human main character's doing human things. Cat Shit One is bunnies and other animals in a war setting, while Shirokuma Cafe has all kinds of animals in a slice of life/comedy setting.
