Both have children who are not like normal human children. Both handle violence in a way that is suitable for younger viewers. There is a very lighthearted feel to both.

Both feuture teenagers with their daily lifes of school. Also both have super natural elements. The carry the same atmophere and are slow-paced you need to watch a few episodes before it catches your interet, but give it a shot you wont regret it!!!

Though petopeto-san lacks battles and superpowers and focuses more on the slice-of-life/comedy part, both anime deal with the issue of the coexistence between human and youkai and the effort to find a way so they can coexist peacefully.

Both shows are about "supernatural" beings trying to live in human society and the troubles they encounter, which seem to be a metaphor for racism, ableism and other isms. They are similar in tone - heartwarming with some romance and comedy.

Both series have a very cute, relaxed, pleasant feel to them, and are kid-friendly without coming off as condescending, immature, or boring to an older audience.

Both series are set in the countryside, and follow the daily lives of children. They have relatively lighthearted supernatural themes about the magical/spiritual world as a part of daily life.
