Funny family situations drawn and told in a sketch comedy style. Laugh out loud comedy, very easy to relate for those who are close to their families

Both have pretty similar humor, really enjoyable family slice of life genre with a lot of day by day comedy situations.

Both are family slice-of-life series, except that the kids in Atashi n'chi are teens while the kids in Mainichi Kaa-san are pre-schoolers.

The two leads share alot of resemblance's, while the mom has to take care of her kids, the other has to take care of crazy animals (just like kids), they end up in hilarious scene's and the lead always has to take care of it.

They are both really a series of 5 minute shorts about everyday life, in the case of Chi it's a cat, and in the case of Kaa-san, it's about children mainly. The art is a little cuter in Chi than in Kaa-san, and there is more of obviously autobiographical aspect in the Kaa-san series, and also there is more of a continuing story with Chi (this also applies to Chi's New Home, by the way). But both are a story of funny, cute, even touching moments in the daily life of Chi or a mom.

Shinnosuke and Rieko (both main characters) have a lot in common, even tho' one's not even 10 (I think) and the other is a full-grown adult with a family. Then again, Shinnosuke has a lot in common with even the two annoying kids and the drunk dad. Both anime's deliver great and humorous sketches throughout the show with two or three shorts an episode. Although Mainichi Kaa-san has an actual plot going on "in the background", Crayon Shin-chan doesn't.
