Kankin Kuiki Level X

After waking up in her room on Christmas Eve, high school student Ryouka Tsurumi makes a series of chilling discoveries. Her mother informs her that her mansion has been evacuated and the area placed on lockdown due to the presence of an unknown and dangerous entity named X. The only other person left in the building is Shuuhei Murosaka, Ryouka's childhood friend. To add to the horror, Ryouka learns that X can brainwash people for its gruesome goal: feeding itself of human blood to reproduce.

However, Shuuhei comes to Ryouka's rescue and manages to save her from one of X's brutal attacks. As the two friends try to escape from the lockdown area, they are captured by hypnotized humans and subsequently devoured by the giant beast. But for Ryouka, the nightmare has just started: she wakes up for the second time in her room, only to find out that a different X is now threatening her life. Realizing that she is stuck in a time loop, Ryouka decides to team up with Shuuhei to find a safe future away from the threat of X.

The animation was a bit off at first to me but the way they represented this story was amazing! I could feel the chills! If anyone likes watching thriller or horror animes then I recommend watching this one. The story is not that strong but the visuals and the way this story is represented was amazing. I recommend watching this with headphones so that you can feel the thrilling vibes even more! And the plotline was kind of unique and also the character's thinking were kind of realistic. I personally like this anime. But don't watch this if you only watch animes which are lovey ... dovey.

Kankin Kuiki Level X was a huge surprise. I was intrigued by the description of "light anime" but it's a fitting label.

The animation is limited, but the voice acting and sound effects do a lot of work in filling in the gaps where the animation is (purposefully) lacking. It has a very unique sort of style to it that feels a lot like a visual novel, web novel, or RPG Maker horror game.

The art style is appealing, and the techniques used to convey movement and action are very clever at times. The only complaints I had were some of the earlier episodes not ... having many establishing or wide shots so it made it a bit more difficult to understand the space the characters were in, but that got a bit better as the series went on.

The plot is interesting, and the type of story that I really enjoy. I won't go into any details, but I will say that it kept me guessing and theorizing at the end of almost every episode. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the series goes.

Overall, a surprisingly impressive little project that sadly is unlikely to get the attention it deserves. I recommend anyone who's into horror or experimental animation check it out.

Plot Summary
This anime follows the story of Ryouka, a girl trapped in a lockdown zone in a building haunted by a monstrous entity called X (Sai). Soundtrack and Ending Theme
The ending theme (ED) is excellent in music and song, but again, it is lacking in animation. The music generally does a decent job of building suspense, drawing the viewer into Ryouka’s struggle for survival. - 7/10

Despite its short length, Kankin Kuiki tells a solid, engaging story with tension-filled moments that keep you watching. Though the limited animation style might disappoint those seeking high-quality visuals, the anime compensates with an intriguing premise. It’s a quick, suspenseful watch for fans of psychological thrillers or horror, and its unique, claustrophobic setting will resonate with viewers looking for something a bit different. - 6.5/10
