All these reviewers out there who are constantly bashing this type of anime 3 episodes in with their typical 'generic, blah blah blah' complaints expecting the next big thing and nitpicking every little thing need to chill. Honestly, this show is solid so far, and I’m personally a huge fan of these kinds of anime. Every one of them has its own unique spin, and it’s just ridiculous when people group them all together as if they’re the same. It’s funny how these critics will praise boring shows like they're the pinnacle of anime, while we, the real fans who enjoy action-packed, revenge-driven, overpowered MCs, ... get dismissed. If you're a man like me who enjoys these types then this show hits the mark. Right now, I’m giving it a 7 out of 10 because it’s enjoyable. I wouldn't usually write an early review, but just to do since there are a bunch with negative ones right now.

Guilty pleasure at its finest.

It’s not the most original, not the most well-written, not life-changing, or even the most exciting—but damn, at least it doesn’t put you to sleep.

Now, if you’re looking for a masterfully crafted fantasy anime that could stand alongside Tolkien’s works, you’re in the wrong place. I mean, brother, look at the title—what the fuck were you expecting? Frieren? Mushoku Tensei?

Is the MC overpowered? Obviously. Again, look at the title. But at least this anime shows you how he got there—and it’s fucking brutal. The dude gets turned into a porridge of blood and bone multiple ... timesbbefore finally unlocking his "cheat." It doesn’t just hand him god-tier power in the first five minutes—he actually goes through hell to get it. It may not be the most in-depth training arc, but at least it exists. Hell, it takes him two episodes and ten minutes before he’s even qualified to be called OP—way slower than some of the other fantasy MCs this season.

"But isn’t this just the same generic anime that’s been made a thousand times?"
Yeah. Of course, it is. But let’s be real—a story about a loser turning into an unstoppable demigod always has its charm. And honestly? This one’s at least a little better than most. The animation is decent—definitely better than some of its competitors—though the fight scenes could use more polish, especially since this anime leans way more into brutality than others in its genre. Even the opening and ending songs? Absolute bangers.

Now, about the characters besides our all-powerful MC...
Do you like tits?
Do you like mesugaki?
Do you like lolibaba?
Do you like a little homosexual rigamarole?
Oh, baby, you’re getting all of it.

Sure, some of the characters can be annoying at times, but at least they don’t act like someone took a steaming shit on their breakfast every single scene.

All in all, it’s an enjoyable anime, but definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.

In true edgy-hero fashion, Plot Armor-kun swears vengeance and begins training, quickly becoming one of the strongest beings in his world. The first girl he encounters immediately becomes smitten with him. If the pattern holds, expect every female character to inexplicably fall in love with him because... why not?

Art and Animation:

The art style is solidly above average. Character designs are sharp, and the animation quality holds up in both action and quieter moments. While the visuals don’t reinvent the wheel, they’re polished enough to keep you engaged. Special effects, especially during power reveals, add some flair without overdoing it.

The music fits the dark and edgy tone of the story. It complements the action sequences well and sets the mood for the protagonist’s transformation arc. That said, the opening theme is pretty standard fare for this genre—not bad, but not memorable enough to keep me from hitting “skip.”
