Tensei Kizoku and Kantei Skill de Nariagaru are back for a second season, and it came out fast! If you’re still buzzing from the first season, you’ll be thrilled to know that this continuation picks up right where it left off—no time skips, no filler, just straight back into the action (well, as much "action" as the MC's appraising abilities allow, anyway).

Synopsis Refresher:
The story follows a man who dies and gets reincarnated as a noble in a small, conflict-ridden country. The twist? Our protagonist doesn’t have the usual ... O.P. combat powers or mind-blowing strategies. Instead, he has one simple but unique talent: the ability to appraise people. While this might not sound flashy, it’s surprisingly effective—he can see the hidden strengths and potential of those around him, allowing him to assemble a team of talented companions to help build the peaceful nation he dreams of.

If you haven’t watched season one, here's a fair warning: jumping into this without any context will leave you scratching your head. But for those already invested, this feels like a natural continuation—more like the next episode rather than a whole new season, which is excellent if you like consistency!

Season Two Impressions:
So far, the series keeps up its vibe—no earth-shattering battles or over-the-top power-ups, but it delivers on some solid strategy, political intrigue, and character development. The MC’s knack for scheming without ever having to pick up a sword continues to be a fun twist. If you’re into anime that focuses on building alliances, developing kingdoms, and outsmarting opponents with clever (but sometimes simple) plans, this one remains a good watch.

The character progression feels steady, and you can sense that the story is gearing up for something epic. It’s laying down the foundations—building relationships, preparing for conflict—and you know a bigger payoff is on the horizon.

Final Thoughts:
If you enjoyed season one, you’re in for a treat. It’s more of the same in the best way possible. However, this one won't change your mind if you didn’t vibe with the first season. It’s not trying to reinvent itself; it’s just continuing to build on the solid base it already established.

Either way, I’m glad I can watch more of this isekai goodness. It’s the kind of show that knows what it’s doing and does it well.

Is the second season of this show worth watching? Eh, maybe. Is it anywhere as good as the first season was? Not even close.

Right off the bat this season showcases an important scene for the storyline, and then does something to make a supporting character be absolutely despicable. Their blunder is so bad that online forums all over the internet at the time of this seasons release are being flooded with memes and comments about how much they hate this particular character.

As the story progresses, it feels less like the other characters accomplished something and more like they just have plot armor making ... them succeed despite the blunder. I am now several episodes past the incident, and I just can't get into new events because the story has become less enjoyable just because said supporting character is in it.

Lord Rengue has singlehandedly dropped my rating for this season from an 8 to a 6. I don't care about him redeeming himself, I just hope he isn't in future episodes when they are released.
