Romance between human and human-like robots, and the struggles that come along with that kind of relationship are portrayed in both shows. Although I think Bokutsuma may be simpler, I find myself reminded very much of Chobits while watching it.

while you should probably watch/read chobits first, if bokutsuma's android-girl romance premise was interesting to you, you should try dears. dears is a little less abashed in its otaku sleaziness, tho. fantastic op from under 17 as well for dears fans, bokutsuma may bring a bit of nostalgia, at least for the lum-like fallen angel-type robot love premise.

Both Plastic Memories and Bokutsuma explore the theme of forbidden love between human and sentient android as the male protagonists form deep emotional bonds with their assigned androids with a predetermined lifespan/skillset, highlighting the complexities and heartache of loving a being with limitations. Moreover the two shows brilliantly examine the challenges and nuances of such an unconventional relationship by addressing the intersections of human emotions and artificial intelligence, questioning the boundaries of romantic connections in a technologically advanced society.
