Both have time travel, cards & battles. Both have cute monster designs as well more serious/cool looking monsters. Both have good English dubs.

Both second season follow ups of very similar niche monster battling kids anime. Both have intelligent creatures based on real world animals (spiders in spider riders, dinosaurs in dinosaur king). In both a young cast of heroes communicate with, tame and battle alongside these creatures. Both also have comical team rocket style villains as is common for shows targeting this demographic, it is clear these shows are targeting the same audience.

Both kids anime with very similar tones and content. Both targeting the same audience and made alongside products/toys to sell to their audience. Beyblade Metal Fusion tried to sell their real world counterpart beyblade toys whereas Dinosaur King tried to sell it's short lived card game as well as other various toys.

Both are the second series of monster battling kids anime. Both maintain the charm of their original seasons while still exploring new grounds (but playing it safe and not shaking things up too far). Both shows have good humour as well good back-and-forth's and dialogue between the monsters and human characters.

Children's anime that focus largely on kids battling against at first unforeseen dark powers. In both they battle alongside companion creatures (in beyblade it's slightly more convoluted with these companions inhabiting beys). Both also were used as marketing for real life toy and game products. Max and Gingka have their similarities with many of the typical child protagonist traits of the time.

Both the second series of popular kids anime that centre around card games and monsters. Both feature spirits of sentient monsters sealed within cards. Both have good art styles and target almost the exact same audience. Yu-Gi-Oh can be more mature in my opinion with Dinosaur King often playing it safe to remain as kid friendly as possible, however I've seen both series enjoyed by both younger and older audiences. If you're into one of these anime I feel you are likely to get a kick out of the other.
