Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

After years of animosity, the leaders of Osaka's Somei and Tokyo's Miyama yakuza groups have called a truce—by arranging an engagement between their respective grandchildren, Yoshino Somei and Kirishima Miyama. To this end, 17-year-old Yoshino moves to Tokyo to live with the Miyama family and attend school with her new fiancé. Although Kirishima is all smiles and perfectly polite, there is something unsettling about his demeanor that Yoshino cannot put her finger on.

Yoshino's suspicions are soon confirmed: despite his manners, Kirishima is a masochistic maniac. He hurts people without batting an eye and also revels in being punished verbally and physically himself. What he wants most is a spoiled and arrogant fiancée who will ruin his life. When Yoshino does not quite meet his expectations, he reveals his true colors and openly insults her. However, instead of running away in fear, Yoshino decides to take revenge by making Kirishima fall in love with her and then ruthlessly breaking his heart.

Preliminary (6/12 eps)

After a long time, I watched an anime categoriesed as Romance and liked it, the last one was Skipbeat.
The anime revolves around the strange relationship between two Yakuza youngins who are kind of forced to like each other for certain reasons not disclosed till now.
The story becomes interesting from the start of the shows when the boy shows discontent and disgust toward the main female character, as a result she takes extreme steps to prove a point. They guy being a masochist has fetish for such things and falls in love, and then their strange love hate fearful relationship continues
It's interesting and thought provoking, female ... audience may find it more enjoyable and guys who have tons of gf's.
The animations are not so good considering we are in 2024, doesn't have much of actions scenes anyway.

Overall the show is enjoyable a bit different from todays mainstream animes and can be a fun experience to watch definitely recommend.

Mixed Feelings

It's ok if it's low budget, but I don't know what the point is for them when they choose the early art style of the manga but its ok, it's stylized and seems interesting, but idk I just feel bad....bad anime, bad designing, all ppt, everything is bad...But it's still ok when it cooks well BUT-but I got really disappoint BECAUSE they didn’t ask the author’s permission to allow the anime adaptation. 

As a manga reader, please, guys, read and support the manga!! especially if you get hooked! I know it's not for everyone, but for me, it’s true that the character’s romance development ... is a little bit slow, but I really hooked up and it’s really fun to read! if you're a fan then please support the author!!

A rom-com with violence and in the yakuza world, could be cool I though,but I was wrong. I'm going straight to the point, it is bad.

The art is weird and low budget. The characters has a weird looking design and the draw is very digital and crunky, the kind of you would expect from a tablet. The animation is average, doesn't need much more, though.

The character development simply isn't there.
The girl is prude and naive, her actions make no sense and it seems like she was born the day before.
But the next episode she empower herself selling one of her kidneys (maybe I ... miss something and that was a joke (?) dunno) and become kinda dominatrix with the boy. But then she get back to be naive and so on.
The boy is a douchebag masochist with weird and fucked up desires. Some kind of "jekyll and mr. hyde" personality, and also is a yakuza and a high schooler.

The plot boils down to "you're going to marry this guy, so you're going to move into his house and sign up for his school, and do what he tells you to do" literally that, five minutes in and it's all set up, we don't need to know any more I guess.
All this seasoned with the use of really offensive language, verbiage and swear words continuously without being necessary. A treatment and degrading attitudes towards the female protagonist are shown. Things like prostitution or sexual humiliation are trivialize. The relationship is toxic, disfunctional and disrespectful to say the least.

I prefer seinen anime and I'm not against violence in them, but here everything seems to be for the shock and awe of the viewer, as if someone said "if we make the character use super gruesome violence as if nothing, so casual, and say things that you would expect to hear in porn movies that's going to make our product serious and adult".
I don't know, if it had some kind of justification, a decent and adult plot, or even some sense in its plot I would understand it, but it lacks any logic and it is clear that it doesn't know what it wants to be, and what it pretends to be is not funny and doesn't make sense. I don't recommend it, not even a little
