New Interest Stack

Interest Stacks

This is a list of anime that feature male yanderes of all sexualities (but mostly straight because I'm not very familiar with BL anymore nowadays).

The notes tell which character is the yandere, unless them being a yandere is an actual plot spoiler. Also, if not noted as a comedy, these anime will most likely contain sensitive content like violence, gore etc. They are yanderes after all!

I have also made a companion manga list to this! Please check it out if you are interested!

This includes Shojo, BL, Seinen, and Shounen. Although Shounen and Seinen are usually targeted at a male audience, there are some shows which I think more attract a female audience instead ^^
Also some new shojo that will be airing over the next 1-2 years. I'm so happy that there are new shoujos / female-targeted series coming out instead of just more Shounen romance 😭.

--> Link to Part 2 because the Shoujo gods have blessed us with more shows. https://myanimelist.net/stacks/32081

Some are not only focused on romance, but have good couples.
I've tried adding a bit of everything.

Anime that takes place in Akiba and some in Shibuya

these are the well known titles. if you know more let me know of what else

a lot of these anime are mostly filled lewd jokes but, it does make us aware about oppressions, censorship and the lack of freedom of expression.

the intention of this list is to try to group anime with akiba and otaku reference.

no harem no ecchi or over-sexualization of female characters. no movies. these are the fun, completed, binge-worthy ones that I really enjoyed :)

This stack is for Nisekoi-type anime, abstractly named after a (in)famous romantic comedy where the characters are forced to accept a arranged engagement and artificial relationship in general. Such shows are usually based on a very characteristic premise, where a guy and a girl, less often other combinations, are forced to be together due to a forced engagement or a fake relationship, but subsequently fall in love with each other for real (not necessarily at the same time). Additional drama is also possible where the characters are already in love with someone else and/or are forced to maintain that relationship due to circumstances.

Some of these shows problematically idealize organized relationships (usually because of the idea of easily getting interesting pairing or fantasizing about the perfect bride with no extra effort), some deconstruct or add something that reveals the character's developed genuine romantic reciprocity. Some, on the contrary, even normalize it, but fortunately such shows are in the minority and even they try to somehow justify this in the eyes of people.

Separately, I want to note that not all of these shows contain this subplot or arc in the first or already released seasons. So keep that in mind when you see shows in the stack that you've never heard of in this context. Also, this stack doesn't include anime with forced engagement that don't include the center couple in it, or are clearly shown it in a judgmental way.

This is just a list of anime that I felt had shoujo vibes but didn't have the shoujo tag. A lot of them are anime with shoujo tropes or just strike me as being aimed at a female audience (or they just have hot boys; don't judge me). I've not included josei or boy's love anime since they are already highly associated with shoujo anime.

Note: I don't believe that the shoujo tag should be added to any of these anime. I understand why they aren't considered shoujo.

Mainly from series whose main theme is not dance and sequences mostly come from opening or ending, sometimes from an episode.

Anime targeted at a female audience which is being released 2024. I will also include promising anime who lack the explicit title of shoujo or Josei if they look like they're meant for or pander to a majority female audience.

I will also add my thoughts on them in kind of "review" after finnishing them

started making it fall 2023 and just now (spring 2024) realised it sat as a draft oh well
