Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

This stack is for Nisekoi-type anime, abstractly named after a (in)famous romantic comedy where the characters are forced to accept a arranged engagement and artificial relationship in general. Such shows are usually based on a very characteristic premise, where a guy and a girl, less often other combinations, are forced to be together due to a forced engagement or a fake relationship, but subsequently fall in love with each other for real (not necessarily at the same time). Additional drama is also possible where the characters are already in love with someone else and/or are forced to maintain that relationship due to circumstances.

Some of these shows problematically idealize organized relationships (usually because of the idea of ​​easily getting interesting pairing or fantasizing about the perfect bride with no extra effort), some deconstruct or add something that reveals the character's developed genuine romantic reciprocity. Some, on the contrary, even normalize it, but fortunately such shows are in the minority and even they try to somehow justify this in the eyes of people.

Separately, I want to note that not all of these shows contain this subplot or arc in the first or already released seasons. So keep that in mind when you see shows in the stack that you've never heard of in this context. Also, this stack doesn't include anime with forced engagement that don't include the center couple in it, or are clearly shown it in a judgmental way.

This is just a list of anime that I felt had shoujo vibes but didn't have the shoujo tag. A lot of them are anime with shoujo tropes or just strike me as being aimed at a female audience (or they just have hot boys; don't judge me). I've not included josei or boy's love anime since they are already highly associated with shoujo anime.

Note: I don't believe that the shoujo tag should be added to any of these anime. I understand why they aren't considered shoujo.

Mostly new title!

This list is purely my personal opinion. It has nothing to do with society. I added it here after reviewing the manga/light novel of many of the anime on the list, reading a few reviews and checking if they are good or not. In short, these are the anime that could be the potential banger of the season, whose original source has been praised by some people, and the anime I am most looking forward to.

No isekai except if they might be good, weird, Movies or nsfw. all the anime that isn't is new and isn't a sequel

Honestly some of these animes are complete musts, the others are enjoyment of bad entretainment but not so bad i would drop it.

This stack is dedicated to shows that feature young adult characters and focus on specific themes of the peak of youth, first adult experience and attempts to declare oneself as an independent adult person, distinguishing such titles from the usual shonen or seinen. If possible, bypassing fantasy, since there the age groups of characters are usually blurred due to the setting

This stack is dedicated to the show, whose narrative is largely built on funny, ridiculous and generally witty dialogues and interactions between the characters. Not just comedy anime, but anime where funny dialogues and witty exchanges can bring special big pleasure to the viewer. Possible puns and implications not intended, lmao.

If this stack will be interesting enough to people, then I will develop the theme and create separate stacks for shows with philosophical, wholesome family-romantic or horny flirting dialogues.

This stack is intended for formally male-oriented anime, which are often written by female authors and have a shoujo-ish aesthetic. For a variety of reasons. Maybe it's the strong shoujo art or visual aesthetics, maybe the themes and narratives are more typical of shoujo and josei. Or even just have a big focus on female gaze in the appearance and personality of characters. Overall, if you are looking for shows for the male demographic that have strong shoujo influences and elements, then this is the stack for you.

Of course, no all-male battle shonen shows that are simply popular with female audiences because of hot male characters or gender-neutral shows that appeal to people of all genders in equal numbers. And of course, not a single show is mentioned here for the purpose of moking or criticism. I consider the shoujo aesthetic or narrative of all these anime to be an added bonus that only adds more sophistication, aesthetics and variety over the usual shonen and seinen titles.

It’s strange that I’m the first to think of this, but I’ll try anyway. As the name obviously suggests, this stack is dedicated to anime where either the protagonist belongs to the yakuza or fights them. Well, or where it’s just a topic that gets enough attention.

Seinen anime based on manga published in a seinen magazine targeted towards a male audience that can have both a male or female MC but has the sensibilities of a josei manga.

Often based on seinen manga created by female mangaka.
