Contains similar delicate illustrations of characters' inner thoughts and emotions using creative artistic animation styles; both also has a very tightly written and fast-paced original story plot involving problems faced in life by 5 different girls.

Both depict young adults working in the very complex entertainment industry (music and acting). Both have strong dramas and an overall dark and tragic aura. And while Oshi no ko is a bit more comercial and easier to digest, I feel that the topics and characters in Ave Mujica are deeper and more realistic. Ave Mujica has no supernatural, no reincarnation, no plot twists. Just tragic, never-ending chain of suffering that piles one on top of the other.

both are (implied) lesbian soap operas focusing on high-school girl psychological nihilism drama and mental illness . Both also share the theme of living dolls. And complicated secret familial relationships.
