Both are campy meta comedy shows that get progressively more over-the-top and insane as they progress. They parody super robot/tokusatsu shows in a very loving way, focusing on the power of courage and love. Both shows do not shy away from the gay love between their leads.

Absurd show with lots of comedy, sci-fi elements, references to classic shows, and lovable characters.

Both are love letters to tokusatsu/mecha genre. In one hand we have a happy Evangelion (GRIDMAN) and in the other hand we have a war story mixed with humour and a little bit of homoeroticism. Very fun to watch both.

the exact reasons are a spoiler but it'll make sense if you watch it

"strange" shows that play with the genres their presenting as- but not in immediately obvious ways. Both are the type of show where its hard to recommend due to its main appeals being core spoilers.

Before Tengen Toppa and in response to the drama of EVA, GaoGaiGar was there. If you like robots, overly animated transformation sequences, and can stand a somewhat episodic design and child characters, and are looking for a less gritty experience give GaoGaiGar (and GGG Final) a shot.

Both series are parodies of the super robot genre focusing mostly on epicness, ignoring logic and just being the definition of rule of cool.

Well Bravern is the 2024 brave series but with fujioshi bait.Dagwon also features dudes who directly transform directly into robots and "combine" together.......
