Both are set in school setting where their love blossoms into fine wine. It's cute, fun and wholesome romcom that soothes your heart instantly. Nishikata challenges Takagi into some fun shenanigan's and Takada enjoys spending time with Nishimura which is kind of similar. Both series have good comedy and lovable characters, so check these 2 fun animes out.

two romcoms with clueless male MC and easily embarassed female MC -ayumu is set in high school, clueless first friend is set in elementary school -ayumu has shogi as its theme, clueless first friend has no theming except for a bit of chunibyou

Both anime follow the developing relationship of a gloomy kid and the light of sunshine that changes their world. Jijou wo Shiranai focuses on the gloomy girl realizing that she can have friends and be happy, despite her "shinigami" moniker. However, the relationship starts out a bit one-sided, since the main boy is incredibly earnest, but very oblivious with the affection he shows the main girl. Boku no Kokoro is more evenly balanced with a mutual progression of them both realizing their love for each other and the gloomy boy coming out of his shell. It's a slow burn, but there's a good amount of development in  read more

"Shy girl makes friends" is a common trope for a reason. Amidst other shows with complex plots with morally grey characters, sometimes what I want are simple stories with characters I can whole-heartedly cheer for. Sawako and Akane start as good-natured but lonely students who start opening up more after crossing paths with a popular, thoughtful guy who can appreciate them for who they really are. Both Sawako and Akanes' personal growth is easy to get invested in, and this is the main reason I enjoy both so much. Both male leads are likeable, respectable, but still believably flawed in one way or another. All  read more

Both shows have a main girl protagonist experiencing an issue in some way and then are introduced to the main male character who gives it his all in trying to help her. The light-hearted cuteness in each episode and the overall vibes of the shows are very similar!

These anime can be considered as flirting tutorials. When viewing any of them, the milota counter goes off the scale. Both the characters and the audience are helpless against the attractiveness enhancement techniques shown in these anime

The MC who doesn't understand what love is meets the heroine who has been in love throughout the series 🥰

Both female leads are antisocial and victims of bullying. The male protagonists become friends with the female lead despite hearing unpleasant rumors. Both female leads are opened to a new world and discover new friends and new experiences along the way.

Jijou is so heartwarming to watch! The vibes I feel when I'm watching this show are similar to the vibes I felt when I watched Nazo no Kanojo X, but Jijou is a lot more pure and innocent. The female MCs have some similarities and the male MC on Jijou is just amazing! Tried not to talk too much here. Giving it a chance is a favour you can do to yourself =)

I'm repeatedly surprised about how much Takada reminds me of Katarina. Both of them are positive and airheaded, easily befriends others, and brings light into the lives of troubled people. Both of them also do and say things that hits their friend right in the heart and makes them fall for them, all while remaining oblivious to it and about romance. The difference being, that Takada does this for one girl, while Katarina does it for a bunch of boys and girls.

These two anime feature extremely genuine, but completely oblivious young boys that constantly speak directly from their heart whenever interacting with the female lead. This often leads the girls to become flustered and blushing hard, being unable to handle or don't expect him to say such loving comments toward them. As such, both series are absolutely adorable from start to finish. While Jijou wo Shiranai's main couple is the same age, Saikin Yatotta Maid's main couple has a large age gap between a young boy and a 20-30-something maid. They keep it clean, but it's certainly something some people might be uncomfortable with, especially since she's  read more

The first friend who made great memories in her school life!. The two female characters in this series both had first male friends who changed their school life. On the one hand, she is labeled as "unlucky" and "dark", while on the other hand, she is considered a "goddess" and "we can't just talk to her!". They both show growth in their courage to socialize with their peers. The romantic text elements are also both less rushed although My Clueless First Friend has far more blushing moments. Both have the familiar element of trying to improve their school life!
