Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Go Rush!!

After inheriting the company from their parents, siblings Yuuhi and Yuamu Oudou have started to work at Ultraterrestrial Trouble Solutions, an organization that hunts aliens. Although they have never encountered aliens before, Yuuhi is desperate to meet one as he believes that an alien has stolen his important item called the "Earthdamar."

One day, while searching for extraterrestrial creatures, Yuuhi and Yuamu find a strange spot in the forest where many trees have fallen, forming a scenery similar to a crop circle. As they venture further, they discover a mysterious spaceship and enter it out of curiosity. To their surprise, they come across Yudias Velgear, an alien from the Velgear Star Cluster. As it turns out, Yudias is seeking to learn about Rush Duel—a card game popular among elementary school students—as he believes that it will save his home from a long war.

With the siblings agreeing to teach Yudias about Rush Duel, they eventually realize that their first contact with an alien may not be a random coincidence.

Go rush gets really good and has dark moments and is true to form like the previous series. The main character is likeable and the cast is great there is plenty of characters to ship as well. The story arcs and duels have way more depth then sevens and you can tell bridge has improved there yugioh formula. I think you will enjoy the anime even if you didn't like sevens because its back to the basics there are people getting carded. Duels with actual cliffhangers and there is lot of character growth in this show. Its making my top 3 yugioh shows.

Unfortunately, due to the prejudices surrounding the Bridge-era Yu-Gi-Oh, many people are missing out on such a great show. The problem that may set people back from watching it is the focus on comedy and pacing, but if you are here I presume you already have experience with Sevens. When the plot gets going, it becomes so good. Seriously. And it shows especially from episode 20 and even more with the end of the first season, which just aired recently.

The beauty of Go Rush is how it raises so many questions, and throughout the arcs, everything starts making sense in a way. The writers ... are doing a fantastic job at not forgetting plot points, and making sure that the secondary/filler characters make a quick reappearance and aid in the plot. It’s also amazing how they are expanding the lore by conencting the previous series, which no other anime in the franchise ever did (at least successfully), but no spoilers.

Each plot point is resolved so well that it doesn't feel like "lol yeah let's now move on", but you can see how the characters grow throughout the anime. Kinda reminds me of Gurren Lagann (particularly the opening during the battles' climax!) but that's too much of a strech haha. Speaking of music, the anime is blessed thanks to Frederic and Yusuke Saeki, and we are also getting a new opening by Bradio!

One big downside is the animation. Unfortunately sakuga is almost nonexistent, but some episodes visually are impressive. Covid, the anime airing weekly, the current state of the industry, and Bridge animating also Shaman King impact a lot the production. Thankfully, the great story makes up for it.

Should you watch Go Rush? Yes, if you enjoyed Sevens.

Is this even Yu-Gi-Oh anymore?

Well the show has a good opening i guess..

Everything else sucks. Where to even begin?

This is a spinoff of SEVENS because we needed a spinoff of Sevens apparently.

The MC is an alien. Why? Because wacky? The other two characters also have names that start with Yu because Arc V didn't run that troupe into the ground enough.

... There are episodes where THEY DON'T EVEN DUEL.

Sevens wasn't bad at all. It was pretty entertaining at least. Somehow this show has run 100 episodes and we haven't even gotten an English dub yet. It is never ending.

I digress. The plot revolves around an Alien named Yuga trying to learn a children's card game (ala rush duels) to lead his people to a better future. That's it. That is the driving point. No ET phone home or alter ego this time. Just "i want to learn rush duel because show demands it"

they aren't even hiding the subliminal messages geared towards marketing collectible cardboard .

Duel Masters has good anime, Beyblade does. Even Digimon does. Why do we get stuck with this crap?

There's not much to really say. It's the wacky adventures of an alien boy and two nerds. Theres other aliens too including a chupacabra boy.

Since the episodes aren't even plot heavy i can't even describe them. They all feel like filler. Again, Why does this even exist?

Who asked for an alien's adventures playing yugioh?

Go buy more collectible cardboard and consume this trash i guess. It's frankly insulting that Konami thinks this little of us fans.

This show is geared towards the youngest of audiences and it's just plain bad.

There's some exciting duels im sure by episode 25+ but do you really want to force yourself to watch this children's show with no character development or serious moments? Just to see actual duels?

Go watch GX. Go watch Vrains. Watch or re-watch any other Yu-Gi-oh show. Even sevens.

Even the Wikipedia page literally consists 1 single paragraph for the plot sypnosis. It isn't deep.

It's a show aimed at kids and only kids.

The animation is the same as SEVENS. Cartoonish and cheap.

There is nothing good I can really say about this show. It's just bad.
