Both involve up and coming idol groups working on growing and reaching a concert goal. Shine Post primarily maintains the perspective of the idols themselves, while OshiBudou largely takes the perspective of the fans. However they both show each side of the idol group in terms of their management/training and how their performances are received by their fans.

Both depict up and coming idol groups finding their footing in the industry and working towards the end goal of putting on a concert and building up their fanbase. Similarities include: - New idol group training and improving their skills. - Networking for fans through TV, radio, brochures, etc. - One of the more experienced idol members having past connections to a major idol group, leading to rivalries later on.

While SHINEPOST doesn't include a wild time-travel premise like Paripi Koumei (AKA Ya Boy Kongming), both series focus on the way the music industry and idol culture impact young artists. Nanami in Paripi Koumei and the girls in SHINEPOST have a lot in common. Managers with special, nigh supernatural skills are also featured in both series. Both titles also have similar positive vibes and well-written drama populated by loveable characters, all brought to life with stellar animation and great music. Both Series take a more serious approach in telling a story about idols. If you like Rubys perspective and her way into the Idol Industry, you may enjoy Shine Post. As it's focus lays in the same subject matter. Dealing with hardship in the industry, Getting through all the bureaucracy with the passion for being an idol and your own problems being all still significant in a world that seems so carefree and drenched in love, while you find out there's more to that. Both series are heavy on the drama aspect and have their own good way of showing the new life of the characters.  read more

Shine post is similar to Idolm@ster not only in that it's a story about professional idols struggling with their own problems as well as those of this market. It is also shown here how the girls try to overcome these problems and fight their weaknesses. On top of that we have a similar brilliant Producer, who appropriately tries to make their paths. In addition, the animation itself and the quality of the audio/video part are on a similar (and in some places even higher) level to Idolm@ster. Both series tried to avoid 3D animation at all costs, which I personally appreciate. We also see a  read more
