Lots of fun, lots of accidents, lots of punches, lots of love. Besides Keintaro is a normal Student, Yoichi is a Samurai.

Both anime have harem, cute girls, fights, kantanas and kendo :D

The styles are from an older school of animation, yet despite the simplicity there aren't any issues which stand out. Both series employ similar humor which is off the wall yet somehow still ends up working despite the fact one doesn't expect this. Both also involve fighting.

Well the main characters are sort of similar to each other in many ways, and both involve swordsmanship.

Both are about a Samurai who has to adapt to a strange new lifestyle when he's forced to move and go to a new high school. They both combine action and comedy pretty well for a genre that's normally plagued by absurd amounts of fan service and an excuse plot. I mean, yeah, they still have those, but at least it's toned down a bit. Princess Lover is 1/2 comedy and 1/2 drama, with a satisfying ending, while Asu no Yoichi is 3/4 comedy and 1/4 terrible-excuse-for-a-story-arc, which makes it have a more disappointing ending, so it's up to you if you're willing to watch one  read more

The main male character are both clueless to regular ways of living. This is just a taste of comedy while full metal panic is widely more enjoyable

The relationships between a lot of the characters in these animes are very, very similar. As an example: you have the delinquent who softens up and is too shy to admit his feelings for a girl, while that girl happens to be in love with another guy. Both animes also includes a big amount of comedy, lots of love triangles and people wanting to confess their feelings.

Yoichi is basically Kenshin in modern Japan with all its current-anime-industry-absurdness. I know there are some strange people out there who enjoyed the situations in Rurouni Kenshin that pertained to - well, filler, which is basically what harem animes are - and thus will enjoy Asu no Yoichi regardless of all faults. However, I would like to direct this recommendation towards a broader audience, who have not seen Rurouni Kenshin and all its magnificent filler and would like to see where Yoichi's character came from but in a more interesting setting (with actual plot!). Simply put, these animes are like eachother in terms of the  read more

Both series has a main male protagonist that lives with several girls at a dojo for training and life purposes. Both series contains fan-service and ecchi. Both series has comedy, drama, and a little romance. Both series main protagonist are easily misunderstood at first.

Both involves serious martial arts mixed with lighthearted comedy. While Asu no Yoichi is more harem oriented, Kenichi is much more martial art oriented.
report Recommended by wakka9ca
The intensive world of martial arts versus life in the modern city is a major theme in both shows. There are characters in both who are from martial arts families but want to live a 'normal' life but are constantly pushed to train martial arts. There are lots of comedy, ecchi, fighting, and ninjas in both. Both protagonists find themselves surrounded by girls.
report Recommended by furizaa
These two titles are similar as they're both harems with a sort of fanservicey/ecchi aura radiating with a diverse cast of attractive female characters.
report Recommended by Vizard
Both series deal with a teenager boy who get caught up in a different world, filled with adventures, new people and action/ecchi-packed scene's. Although one goes from the woods to the city, and the other one goes from the Human World to a Magic World, there are alot of similarities, namely the misunderstandings in relationships, the hardships they have to go through to find their (true) "love".

VERY similar to each other. Both have a Male lead very capable in combat, with their ladies who fall for them also capable of combat. Both series harem ladies fall head over hills for the guys, and both are completely clueless about it. Both even though they are naive, they are NOT push overs, and do not tolerate injustice done to people, especially their women.
report Recommended by Tenchi_Ryu
Both have a very simular theme based around a boy samurai or ninja who is surrounded by girls, clueless to the fact that one or more like him. Nijuu Mensou is probabbly geared more towards girls, while Asu no Yoichi is geared more towards boys... and has panty humor in it.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Both a very good fighting anime. Both have secret loves and killer moves.

Well, both of it are very much alike cause both of the show tells about samurai and of course...the harem A lot of fanservice in both of it

Has a male protagonist surrounded by a harem of lovely ladies. The boy is on a journey and is training to become stronger.

both have the main man uses wind

The male protagonist is surrounded by lovely females while going about his life and many trials. Deals with some form or "martial arts".

The story is about a guy who enrolls into a previously all girls school that has recently gone co-ed. The students in the school all have some sort of special ability, that they use through Makens. Similarities as far as I can tell between the two are: -Harem (Guy surrounded by girls) -Martial arts -Big breasted main female lead Some dissimilarities and other things are: In one, the male lead is quite strong (OP) while in the other one, the male lead still needs to unlock or learn to use his power/full potential. Maken-ki has more ecchi content than Yoichi

-Both male and female protagonists are in love with each other but the male has no idea -It's a Harem of course its similar -Contains less Ecchi scenes so it's "safer" :) -Asu no Yoichi! doesn't really contain the magic domain that High School DxD contains -Both starts with an MC that is a loner/loser and becomes very popular (zero to hero term i guess if you put it that way)
report Recommended by juststrech
The premise of both shows is similiar as both are strong martial artist who have grown up in the mountains. Both shows are also comedies, although "Asu no Yoichi!" is an ecchi one and "Moeru! Oniisan" is a gag one without much notable ecchi and (iirc.) no jokes around it.
report Recommended by Late_boy
- protagonist come to place with beautiful girls - Mc is powerful. (OP) - lots of cute, ecchi and funny moments - have a harem but loyal to one - Mc save the main female from danger

Both harems were created under the most unexpected ways, with both comedy and unique ways on how to deal with quirky romance
report Recommended by albertbrown
Both are Harem-Action animes,Ichiban ushiro no daimaou is more of a chosen one anime though while samurai harem is more about what would happen if a samurai went to a modern time city
report Recommended by Ozzey
Ao no Exorcist has a sword weilding male lead. Although it's not as inclined towards romance and ecchi content, it still has an amazingly action and comedy packed storyline with some tear jerking moments.
report Recommended by Lyevino95
they have both good fights and nice comedy.....and some sexy girls :3
report Recommended by pikechu90xx
In both the main male lead comes 'down from the mountain' and mingles with the city folk, all the while showing incredible physical prowess
report Recommended by hexaq
Both series have battle-hardened leading guys surrounded by an unwanted harem of boobtacular classmates/housemates. Lots of boobs, lots of fighting, lots of laughs.
report Recommended by lithiumflower
In both there´s ecchi, where a guy lives in a house surrounded by girls. In both, the owners of the house are three sisters. There´s also a lot of similar comedy, and in both animes, the main guy shares a special relationship with the older sister. In both animes is shown the importance of friendship and family.
report Recommended by Orulyon
Cute girls, panty humour, things that are out of a crack fic... a good, well written crack fic that is.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Both are harem with a bunch of cute girls and awkward situations. The main heroes are quite similar since they both are living/have lived secluded lives in the mountains. The setup of girls are also very similar and in both series they have some kind of, more or less hidden, romantic feelings for the main character. Both of the series are also made by AIC which the gradual reviling of the more dark main plot shows.
report Recommended by HimboBaggins
Both these animes talk about Samurai and has swords and best of all both of them are hilarious!
report Recommended by mazen
Both animes are romance comedies about a main girl and guy that have somewhat of a relationship together, and then another girl (Ayame is Asu no Yoichi, Tsugumi in Kannagi) that are in love with the main guy. Plus, both contain Haruka Tomatsu and Kana Hanazawa.
report Recommended by TsuruyaSonozaki
In a way, these two shows are very similar in what they achieved. First of all, both shows are harem in nature, and contains ecchi and action (in different ways) elements. However, hidden in the latter episodes of both series are dramatic plotlines that heavily emphasizes the main characters of the shows, which are usually not related to the genre these two shows are in.

Both anime involve a person who lived in a mounted going to the city to meet a special person the only different is that one anime is more action then the other but they both contain comedy.
report Recommended by AkatsukiUlquiora
Both are comedy, harem, a bit of romance, ecchi. They have similar art style. Ikaruga reminds me to Shirayuki, maybe is for the clothes?
report Recommended by darkuria
Both involve a somewhat socially retarded samurai surrounded by females.
report Recommended by ezikialrage
Socially awkward male leading character with female tsundere...and more :) just gotta watch it
report Recommended by madskizzles
The characters are similar, and they're both ecchi fighting series. Also: Large breasts.
report Recommended by emperortopaz
- MC will live in a house that only has girls - More than one girl falls in love with the MC - Ecchi moments The biggest difference is that there are fight scenes too
