Mignon is not a terrible series, by all means. It's quite unique from a lot of other aeni out there, and honestly one of the best-directed aeni I've watched. Despite being an aesthetically pleasing show, Mignon isn't all that great to watch unless you're a fujoshi. I'm not a fujoshi, but I have dabbled in a few BL shows. The BL genre truly has a lot of good things to offer, but Mignon isn't one of them to prioritize.
Mignon's strengths are in its nice soundtrack and aesthetic. It's not entirely focused on sex and actually has a plot. Throughout the show, the consistent jazzy and

"late night city vibed" OST truly captured the setting nicely. The soundtrack is probably the best part of the show. Every episode is around 4-6 minutes, and a lot of things happen in each episode. It's quickly paced; the director shoves a lot of events in every episode. It kind of feels like the story's hurling itself in your face, but somehow the directing isn't terrible. It's coherent, constant, and delightful. There's also a nice artistic feel to the storytelling.
HOWEVER, Mignon has it's cons. The characters in Mignon are stereotypical and basic; they are quite predictable and kind of stupid at times, which makes the show a little bit unenjoyable. I get Mignon is supposed to be a himbo but he's a bit too clingy. If you're used to watching anime, the animation and art style of Mignon is drastically different. The animation is a bit choppy, which can throw off a lot of viewers. The art style is a hit or miss for a lot of viewers.
With that aside, the most surprising thing about Mignon that makes it good is probably the fact that it was made by Koreans. It's not every day aeni ends up pretty decent. If you're looking for an overall enjoyable experience and a rollercoaster of a ride for a story, you might want to skip out on Mignon. If you've already watched all the good BL anime, giving Mignon a try won't hurt too much.
Mignon is a good show, it's just that there are a lot of other BL shows out there that are better and that you should watch instead. 7/10.
