86 is basically a copy of Code Geass Boukoku no Akito: of course, they changed a few things but still have the same taste and feels alike, the same cliche of a Japanese male that goes mad rampage inside a robotic unit and the same main female heroine in the military with similar rank and attitude, Vladilena Milizena (Lena in short) is a copy-paste of Lila Malcal, are a few differences of course but is the same plot in essence just fighting a different enemy, but the main characters are the same with names changed, they just changed how the Japanese are called from Elevens  read more

Both shows are have Drama, Action, and Mechs Both shows are focused on the cruelty and unfairness of war Both shows are emotionally impactful Both shows share the same critical failure area (they roll-back significant plot developments in order to force the show in a certain direction)

If you like AoT, you might like 86 too. It has quite similar themes, but it's a bit different in its presentation, and it has very likable characters. Attack on Titan has been going on for years and is now finally about to reach its conclusion. The story build up over the years and mysteries slowly opening up with the main characters struggling has created a lot of hype meanwhile 86 has just started its story with season 1 and season 2 yet to come.

Quiet and generally reserved male protagonists in Inaho/Shin Initially Naïve yet strong-willed female protagonists in Seylum/Lena Both have mechs. Both have children being thrust into the frontlines of a war. Both have an OST by Hiroyuki Sawano with some FIRE singles in aLIEz & The Answer IMO 86 Part 1 and 2 are the stronger show, but Cour 1 of Aldnoah Zero really brought its A game for an Anime-Only.

First of all, Shinei and Levi(from Shingeki No Kyojin) are both very similar characters who are really good on the battlefield and both have also lost many of their close comrades in battle The story of the Eighty-Six is based on a group of people who fight outside an enclosed area.I can also relate the legion to titans where the 86 are meant to stop them from reaching the enclosed area and the same with titans as the survey corps are meant to stop them from reaching the enclosed area

If you are into mecha anime, they are fantastic with excellent world-building. The main characters in both anime are unforgettable.

A very sad storyline of oppression and war against a nigh unbeatable enemy. There is a lot about sympathizing with those who oppressed you, as well as the possibility of the end of humanity. Many sad deaths and the horrors of war.

Both shows' main selling points are their focus on painful, powerful emotional impact that progresses through the shows. Both shows have impressive, consistent production quality throughout. Both shows have drama and action. Both shows have one critical failure area that stops the show from being as great as it is capable of being. In the case of Charlotte, the failure is pacing. In the case of 86, the failure is extremely unrealistic, forced plot developments in order to make the show "happier")

- Male MC are cool, calm & calculating - Female MC is persistent, strong & very much in love with the Male MC - Male MC appears to be cold but in reality wants to be helped - Female MC wants to save the Male MC while everyone else doubts him - Best friend of Female MC has a connection with the Male MC - A group of tech savvy people closest to the MC(in the case of 86 they are with the Male MC & in Classroom Crisis its the Female MC) - Lots of internal feuds & hatred towards the MC's little tech savvy group from the company/state  read more

Just like in 86, the characters thrive in a world at war, friends become enemies, the battles are epic, the OST is awesome too.
