Hyakko

Group of girls going through their high school lives with no real plot. Two characters, one serious and one very energetic and outgoing, that get into arguments all the time. Very crazy and very fun.

Hyakko and Azumanga Daiou both take place in high school and center around a main group of girls and focus on their relationship and all the crazy shenanigans' of daily life. The characters in both series have similar tropes, and the overall feeling, pacing, and vibe is very similar in each series respectively.  

Both are about school life of girls. (In Azumanga 6 girls, in Hyakko 4 girls) We can see crazy and funny moments everyday of these typical anime personalities. Almost all characters who appeared in the anime are girls excluding teachers and 1-2 students. 

Both titles are extremely funny slice of life set in the school setting. The characters in each can also parallel each other. 

The characters in both are mildly similar  

Will make you start to regret if you never actually enjoyed school activities with friends. Both show teach you that after school don't go straight home. Both shows reflect school life in general, but really have the edge over other school life anime in the presentation of teamwork, friendship and adolescent development. I'm really starting to miss my high school days. Shouldn't have hurried back home that often. Maybe I should have my (future) kids watch this before entering high school so that they know importance of school activities. Maybe some students back in Japan skipped activities and hurried back home to watch these series. What a dilemma we are having. read more 

Cute girls do cute stuff and make you laugh 

Same atmosphere. Series composion as couple of short scenes with main plot. Light yuri hints 

both have very laugh out loud characters in Miu and Torako... and they are both voiced by the same person 

While one is supernatural and one is more slice of life, both stories focus on an eccentric high school heroine that does whatever she wants, bringing alongside both her willing and cynical friends. 

Nonsensical comedies with absurd characters and a similar visual style. The director of Hyakko, Fukuda Michio, worked as a storyboarder on Paniponi Dash and countless other Shinbou anime, and his direction on some of the episodes resembles the style of those shows a lot. Torako from Hyakko is also really similar to Himeko from Pani Poni, both voiced by Orikasa Fumiko and acting as the main "boke" of the show. 

Both Anime Are About School Girls Comedy. A Feiw Of Them Also Share The Same Personality. It's Fun Just Watch And You'll Know It. 

Both being a slice of life anime with 4 main female characters, each with their own personality.  

Both anime are ostensibly early 'cute girl' school comedies but most of the humor revolves around the girls not acting very cute (but of course they still are). Joshikousei uses more crude, sexual humor and gags, but fans of one will certainly enjoy the other as they stand apart from the kinds of anime in the 'cute girl' 'genre' that came out after K-ON.
