Synopsis

It is widely believed that science can provide rational explanations for the countless phenomena of our universe. However, there are many aspects of our existence that science has not yet found a solution to and cannot decipher with numbers. The most notorious of these is the concept of love. While it may seem impossible to apply scientific theory to such an intricate and complex emotion, a daring pair of quick-witted Saitama University scientists aim to take on the challenge.

One day the bold and beautiful Ayame Himuro outwardly declares that she is in love with Shinya Yukimura, her fellow logical and level-headed scientist. Acknowledging his own lack of experience with romance, Yukimura questions what factors constitute love in the first place and whether he is in love with Himuro or not. Both clueless in the dealings of love, the pair begin to conduct detailed experiments on one another to test the human characteristics that indicate love and discern whether they demonstrate these traits toward each other.

As Himuro and Yukimura begin their intimate analysis, can the two scientists successfully apply scientific theory, with the help of their friends, to quantify the feelings they express for one another?

The anime totally nails what you’d expect from the synopsis, with plenty of laughs, excitement, and that cozy, feel-good vibe that romcoms usually have.

While a deep romance history wasn’t expected, the anime does a great job of bringing a heartwarming sense of joy. What really sets it apart is its storyline featuring “science types,” which is super fresh and original. It doesn’t get a perfect 10 because it’s not a masterpiece, but it scores high for keeping its promises from the get-go.

I was really hoping to see more of the second “couple” story that was unfolding on the second plane. But what can we expect ...

Mixed Feelings
What a unique plot for a romance anime. But I'll be honest, this is nothing that I expected for a romance anime. Everything that happens in this anime is just generally typical. Everything else was nothing special. But the science and the plot of the anime are the only one that makes it different than other romance anime.

If I had to see it from a Romance perspective, I don't like it. The comedy was good, the science combined with romance was good, but the romance wasn't. I must say it's too generic and I can see the same romance plot on every. single. romance. ...

Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It Is a painfully mediocre cringe fest.

The whole premise of the anime is that two Science obsessed friends try and prove their love for each other through science. Sounds simple enough in concept but throughout the whole anime it just feels executed horribly. I mean they did deliver on the science experiments but just in an extremely cringey and hard to watch. The main characters of the show are two buffoons who have this whole "I'm better than you" Act throughout the show and just act all high and mighty. Alot of the time they will ...
