Recommendations

Both have similar realisator, both show humanity struggling to survive against a very strong ennemy. And both have mysteries about the world itself.

Now, before I start, let me put a disclaimer that the shows are inherently different. However, if you love the adrenaline-rushing fight scenes in AOT, I am positive that Vinland Saga will NOT let you down in those regards. Vinland Saga has superb animation and a deep message that lies underneath the badass fighting, tying in interesting perspectives on religion and what it means to be a "true warrior." Also, Vikings!

The plots of the two shows are completely different but I can't help but think about how similar my feelings were when I reached the endings of both shows. "Wow, what a long journey. From simple, almost meaningless battles (Humans vs Titans / Black Knights vs Britannia), to storytelling masterpieces. If you enjoy wits, sacrifices, action, strategy, deception, contrasting point of views, plot twists, superpowers and badassery, I reccomend Code Geass.

Similar character dynamic and scenes

hmm this recommendation might sound awkward but both of these anime have similar things like, Both are heavily based on strategies where one is trying to outsmart the other (titans vs humas, or kurasuno vs shiratorizawa) both have heartstopping actions, and breathtaking animations, both are the best the franchise have ever produced till 2020 september, if you watch one you can feel the same amount of thrill in another one also, even if the plot and story are totally different

Another story about humanity's survival. Shingeki no Kyojin and Owari no Seraph both share some parallels. Firstly, they are produced by the same animation studio (Wit Studio) and share the same soundtrack composer, Sawano Hiroyuki. In terms of story, in both worlds, humanity is at the brink of extinction and is endangered by another species (titans - vampires). The protagonist is also a young boy who joins a squad to fight that species and to take revenge for losing a family member. In both anime, the atmosphere is a dark and serious one and the animation style is quite similar. If you are a fan of Shingeki of Kyojin, you  read more

The characters never break character in either series, it always feels real and serious throughout. Re:Zero takes place in a fantasy world but it has a high sense of believability and realism, the way AOT does. The MC is an extremely cool character instead your typical "normal dude". The show has very real, dark, impactful violence and emotion.

It is hard to recommend a follow-up for something like AoT that has no real parallel, certainly in regards to story quality. However, Land of the Lustrous is something of a ‘yin’ to the Attack on Titan ‘yang’. While using a totally different colour palette and animation style, Houseki no Kuni similarly has a mysterious invading enemy, a host of meaningful characters and a strong sense of tragedy throughout. It also delivers some of the most dynamic fight scenes (sword based, I might add) that you will find!

Both are huge war arcs with mostly the entire ensemble cast appearing from thus far in the show. If you liked kingdoms wars and the strategies involved I'm sure you will enjoy attack on titans 3rd season and beyond.
