Both anime are sequels to previous popular anime. Also, story wise both main characters struggle with issue that "Their father is a great person" and "people expect too much from them". Anyways, if you are interested in stories where kids struggle in their parents' shadow, here you go.

Both are baseball anime that focus on the relationship of the battery. Also main character having issues with being accepted by others. If you have seen one, it's highly likely that you'll like the other as well.

While both are technically sports anime, I think Major 2nd is more 'sports' than Hoshiai no Sora. But Major 2nd does have similar aspects, and the art style is quite similar in my opinion. Highly recommend both!

Both shows are about baseball. When Major 2nd is still "young" series Diamond no Ace already got 126 episodes. If you like Major 2nd then you will be more than happy to watch Diamond no Ace because it's better and more mature series. Diamond no Ace has better animations and voice actors did great job there. Similarities: - both Daigo and Eijun aren't the best players in their teams but they are developing fast, also they are both treated like "dummies" - elements of training - same sport - rivalry for first squad place/rivalry for becoming Ace - sense of humor - matches with exciting action twists

Both shows are a continuation about the kids of a previous show's players, of-course both are about baseball. If you liked one of them then you might want to check the other series.

Both are baseball anime where main character is lazy and unmotivated for various reasons although they have potential.

Both revolving around sports in primary school level as they are not as strong as pro players but they are striving to be one.
