Similarities - Both MCs were the top geniuses in their village/academy - Both MCs turn into trash after a string of unfortunate events - Both MCs have their cultivation speed increased with external means - Both MCs have a female childhood friend that loves them while they treat them as a sister (equivalent of friendzone) Differences - Tian Huang doesn't progress as well as Doupo - Tian Huang fight scenes and events don't have much substance - Doupo first season is basically a drop but it gets better VS Tian Huang doesn't get better throughout the entire show

Both series are centered around martial arts and spiritual powers. Both main characters have great powers, but cannot use them due to limitations. Both have good action scenes.
