You want to see an anime about High School with some weird stuff going on? Closed spaces and psychic powers? Time travel maybe? And two girls one guy triangle? Well, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya would give you all that and add awesome Kyon narration. And Battle Royal High School give you all that and add Dark Lord and robotic suits. Considering how old Battle Royal High School is, this is probably the show that Haruhi watched as a kid and that changed her personality to what we got today. Watch both of the shows and see if I'm right.

Both series contain manly protagonists taking place in a high school setting where various brutal fights occur. Sakigake Otokojuku is a tribute to Fist Of The North Star which focuses on competitive school spirit in 1 on 1 fights while Battle Royal involves demons & various supernatural abilities. Battle Royal High School has a very messy & bizarre plot but manages to include great action in its limited time frame.

You want to watch another show where sci-fi style technology comes from no where? A show that is further from realism than Hokuto no Ken from being moe? Then get ready for a treat. Both Black Lion (Jigen Sengokushi: Kuro no Shishi - Jinnai Hen, if you want long Japanese name) and Battle Royal High School are very weird and defeat any presence of logic proving to be pure art. And with both shows being blood baths, be careful and don't show it to the unprepared ones.

Similar character design and demons near a school. But Ogre Slayer's more drama, less action.

While the setting and tone of these two cheesy, action-packed '80s OVAs differ substantially -- "Battle Royal" is gorier and is set in a high school, while "Midnight Eye" takes place in a darker, futuristic cyberpunk world -- both of them include plot elements that seem straight out of Mad Libs due to how outlandish they are.

Both anime have a strong main character who practices martial arts and fights against strong enemies. Both have a similar kind of animation and character designs, and an overall similar vibe to them. Also, both anime have characters who wear leopard masks when they fight.

Both titles are based on manga from the 1980's. Both anime feature muscular main characters that fight against supernatural creatures and fights with superhuman martial arts. They contain a lot of GAR action, blood, and gore. Battle Royal High School is a bit more gorier than JoJo's Bizarre Adventure though. If you like one, you will probably like the other.

Both anime have a strong muscular main character that fights against strong enemies. Both are very violent, bloody and over the top. Both are made around the time period (late 80's-early 90's) that have similar character designs as well as similar art and animation. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

Both titles came out in the 1980's. Both anime feature extremely muscular main characters that fight against powerful enemies with over the top violent martial arts. Both the First of the North Star Animated Movie and Battle Royal High School feature very violent and gory death scenes. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

However, Battle Royal High School is more violent and gory than the Fist of the North Star TV show version. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

Both have a school setting with the main protagonist fighting against various strange opponents. Battle Royal High School is set in a non-post-apocalyptic world while Apocalypse Zero is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Both are action-packed anime filled with violence, gore, and nudity. They both have a lot of random scenes that make you go WTF at different times. If you like one, you will like the other as well.

Both focus on a teenage boy protagonist that gets possessed by a demon (Amon in Devilman and Byoudo in Battle Royal High School) and uses their powers to fight off powerful evil demons. Both titles were released in a similar time period (late 1980's - early 1990's). They are both action-packed anime with lots of blood, gore, and gratuitous nudity. Devilman is more serious and has a horror vibe to it while Battle Royal High School is campier and over the top. If you like one, you should enjoy the other.

Sort of similiar, Baki is more graphic with it's violence. This is kind of a cheap version of Baki.
