Synopsis

After a mysterious inferno kills his family, Shirou is saved and adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya, who teaches him the ways of magic and justice.

One night, years after Kiritsugu's death, Shirou is cleaning at school, when he finds himself caught in the middle of a deadly encounter between two superhumans known as Servants. During his attempt to escape, the boy is caught by one of the Servants and receives a life-threatening injury. Miraculously, he survives, but the same Servant returns to finish what he started. In desperation, Shirou summons a Servant of his own, a knight named Saber. The two must now participate in the Fifth Holy Grail War, a battle royale of seven Servants and the mages who summoned them, with the grand prize being none other than the omnipotent Holy Grail itself.

Fate/stay night follows Shirou as he struggles to find the fine line between a hero and a killer, his ideals clashing with the harsh reality around him. Will the boy become a hero like his foster father, or die trying?

Background

This is the canon route (Fate Route), I wish they would remake this route with the same quality as Unlimited Blade Works Route / Heaven's feel Route. Some would advise you to skip this one and jump straight to UBW then Heaven's feel, don't listen to those retards. Fate route is required before you unlock Unlimited Blade works route, then Heaven's Feel in the VN. You are MISSING OUT if you skip this series. I know the animation is not that great, and dialogues seem kinda dry "People die if they are killed" still gets me rofl but hear me out.

This is essential to the ...

Mixed Feelings
Okay so Fate/Stay night has been reviewed more times then I like to count so I’ll just say it right off the bat this anime isn’t the best.

The characters, SPECIALLY Shirou are underwhelming and have the most cliche trope for a shonen mc (For an example he’ll jump into a fight or something without a plan trying to play hero, gets beat then gets a way to defeat his opponent like a episode or 2 later) overall, just a not well written character. The anime also has a bit of plot holes and a few complicated moments which aren’t elaborated on or explained better.

I took the chronological order to watch and saw it right after fate zero. I liked some things like the final episode and the romance of the protagonists but keep in mind that it is a much inferior anime compared to the other routes, where in addition to the animation being rotten, a lot of rules seem to be invented and they are rules that break the logical sense of those that had already been established. I kept thinking while watching the route after this "Umlimeted Blade works" that this had served for me to already have a certain connection with the character, but the ...
