A list of anime that deals with mental illness or other neurodivergence. It may be a main part of the show or just something a main character deals with that contributes to the plot in some way. This is going to be an incomplete stack as I have only seen around 400 shows and there are probably so many that I have missed. If you comment on my profile one that belongs and why, I would love to add it.

As someone who has dealt with mental illness and neurodivergence my whole life, seeing shows where characters deal with similar issues gives me a feeling of being seen. I know many others on this site probably feel the same way.

I hope this list can help someone find a good show!

Literally just every sports anime I have seen

Overflowing with situational comedy, the everyday school life of the most ordinary teenagers, a large number of side characters with various funny gimmicks that create a kind of elusion of the reality of this quirky world. The fun soundtrack, the urban setting, and the vibes of old teen shows from my childhood are one of the most valuable things I love about anime. I've always been particularly fond of big-cast shows like this because of the nostalgic high school atmosphere and sitcom style of humor they provided, so I wanted to create a separate list for that.

For this reason, I tried to avoid fantasy, but still added some examples due to the fact that they still retain the right atmosphere and vibes. Also, some of these shows are high school romance, some are all-male or all-female comedies, so I decided to collect several options at once.

Some of my go-to anime series when I'm down or want to chill a little, taking a rest from the highly intense genres I love & always end up choosing to watch! 😅🙈

This is the shounen anime that I enjoy watching some of this anime might be unknown or not very popular. I hope you can enjoy this list.

Slice Of Life, Iyashikei, Feels Good etc anime. I enjoy watching typical shounen, so SOLs are usually my go-to to "decompress" myself after coming out of those heavy plotted shows. Hence, light bites shows, or sometimes, filler animes to watch and relax before going into the next heavy plotted show. But, they are not only filler animes, I do like SOLs as a genre on its own to watch when I am feeling stressed too.
So anyway, just a stack of chill, funny, easy to digest, and easy to forget anime. No frills, No drama, No suspense.
