Ikemen Sengoku: Toki wo Kakeru ga Koi wa Hajimaranai

*This review is for people who play Ikemen Sengoku. Otherwise, I'm telling you now, this anime will not make any sense to you; there is seemingly no plot, no character development; everything is completely nonsensical. However, if you play the otome game, and looking to feed your addiction, read on...

In my opinion, this was created for IkeSen addicts like myself. At first, I thought the chibi style would be a total turnoff, but surprisingly, they're really cute, and true to their character (as per the game). AND, watch through to the end (3 minutes) and you're rewarded with a 2 second clip of the actual ... ikemen in his glorious form. =D Each episode ends with a different ikemen. Enough said, right? Start watching!

Why did I deduct a star? 3 minutes is too short! As an addict, I still feel withdrawal.

P. S. There's no MC in this series. It's just the warlords. (This is NOT a complaint.) Therefore, do not watch this if you're looking for romance. This is just comic relief until your chapter tickets refresh for the day. ;P

First thing's first, this is based on the otome game Ikemen Segoku: Romances Across Time. Although it is rare for this to happen, otome games can be adapted into anime. It is best to look on both sides, so I will refer to the game a few times, to make comparisons, as I do play it.

Art- The first point I want to touch is the art. I personally do not find the chibi styles to fit these warlords, however, it could work for these short 3 minute clips. To add, at the last five or so seconds, there is a short animation of a character ... as they are in the game, however they are in their 'anime' forms. The dialogue in those sections seem to be mainly targeted to players of the game (female). I especially like the art in these scenes, because they resemble those of the game. Also, the art behind the character during the opening "song" is quite decent as well. The backgrounds in these episodes are also very well done.

Story- As it seems so far, it is a combination of a slice of life and the events going along between the Oda forces and the Kenshin-Uesugi. There is very little plot as of the episodes so far.

Sound- The opening was decent, in terms of my opinion for music. It was energetic yet kinda lighthearted. The voice acting is pretty good. I especially like that the voice actors for the anime are the same for the game. Because I'm not the best at sound, I will leave it here.

Character- The characters all seem fine. This anime adds some goofy sides to them that you don't see in the game. I don't really think they match the personality as well as it does in the game, but I think it's quite funny sometimes.

Enjoyment- This anime got me laughing. It was truly refreshing to see a different side of the normally serious cast. The last few seconds of the show was like a little gift for the players obsessed with the characters (me).

Overall, it's a decent show. It's not the best, but it offers some funny moments and sides to the guys that you usually don't see. As an adaptation of an otome game, it's not half bad.Although not as good as the game, I hope for the future episodes to continue giving us these goofy versions of the warlords.

Hello! This is my first review and I consider myself more of a 'casual' anime fan so I won't really go that much in-depth (not that there is much to begin with). Also, dropped it at episode 2.

Story: 1/10
Since there are only 3 minutes per episode, the story is lacking. Each episode is a slice-of-life (welp, at least 'till episode 2 'cause that's where I dropped it) type of episode that showcases the characters "funny banter". There is not much more to it, but hey, I dropped it at episode 2 so there might be a story?

Art: 3/10
If you can support the 'chibi-esque' character models ... then...this anime might be enjoyable. If you don't like it, oh well, you have a bit of 'regular' animation in the opening and the 'secret' talks (speeches?? the *ahem* last segments of each episode that the fangirls appreciate, probably).

Sound: 2/10
Childish sfx, voice acting good (I don't know, I don't speak japanese)

Characters: 1/10
Oh boy. tl;dr: characters are just tropes and they repeat the same quirk, nothing original

Enjoyment: 4/10
Guess it's kinda good??? Kind of a no-brainer that turns your brain into mush, if you're into that kinda stuff

Overall: 4/10

If you are a fangirl (or fanboy, I don't discriminate) and luv some of 'em anime bishies, then you ladies (or guys) are in for a real treat. At the end of each episode, a character will take to you! Yes, you! However I will avoid spoilers ;). *Return to normal, monotone voice* However that speech lasts for about 3 secs. Yeah you can see the massive animation budget there. Also, I have no life because I wrote this review, watched this show just when I re-started watching animu. (I bet y'all are proud of me)
