The villains in A Last Period are like Jesse and James combined with Team Skull. Kinda like Pokemon the villains are lovable comic relief. Both shows are closely based off of a game but make up their own plot.

They both have very stylized and "good" animation, depending on your outlook. They both are episodic anime, with a few episodes sprinkled in to advance the main conflict, which has been hard to pin down as to what that is. Both have their own sort of actions scenes, with LWA's being the magic exhibitions and Pokemon S&M's being the pokemon battles.(Also lol S&M) They both appeal to children, and as such have characters and references that reflect this target audience.(That won't stop a few older people from enjoying it though) My final and weakest point is that they are both very much mixed bags as far  read more

Pokemon and Beyblade are kind of the same, they both have things battling in epic showdowns!!! And besides, it's pretty cool hearing the names of moves for everything :3

Both are series centered around monsters that are used by children in a setting with a more comedic and slice of life tone than the rest of its kind.

Adventure battle shounen-style shows that feature a large main cast and travel between islands.

Both are action and adventure shows with a school setting. Pokemon is more child friendly while My hero Academia is more mature. But both are really similar in terms of setting and basic plot. In both shows the main character lacks a Power everyone else had but later gets that power through the help of someone. Both shows have a large main cast in which only one or two get focus and others get minor episodes.
