Shoubushi Densetsu Tetsuya

Wacky character design to give a sense of despair or surrealism in a well thought out game style anime Thrilling games which often feel like a life or death situation, sometimes quite literally if the game is lost. Characters willing to do whatever it takes to win, often teaming up with other characters. Characters using other characters to get ahead, but the MC in both usually has good intentions for others they want to help out in each anime, even if it's at a loss for them.  

These shows both tell the stories of men who start off bad at gambling but build up their skills to fight against great opponents. When faced with new challenges, they have to deceive ways to outwit their opponents. 

More crazy mahjong but on the other side of the table, meaning illegal and cheating most of the time. 

Both are about mahjong Shoubushi Densetsu Tetsuya -> dark mahjong and cheating tricks Saki -> Mahjong with moe girls 

Almost the only similarity is Mahjong (a chinese board game), and all the dirty triks that comes with that game cheating, figthing and the most importent surviving. If you liked Tetsuya then you should definitely check out Akagi.  

Akagi and Tetsuya are both about the same basic subject - that is, riichi mahjong - and although the emphasis is more on cheating and underhand play in Tetsuya than on the godly luck and mindmessing of Akagi, the two share a lot of common links - both are biographicals of sort, focusing on the rise of their titular subjects into sorts of mahjong legends. There's enough common ground that fans of Akagi will almost certainly like Tetsuya, and I should imagine vice-versa.
