Books. Both Miss Bernard said. and Ascendance of a Bookworm follows book lovers. Ascendance of a Bookworm is more of using books as a source of knowledge. Miss Bernard said. is the love for the literature of books. Both are good s.o.l anime with Bookworm adding touches of fantasy compared to Miss Bernard's comedy.

Both series might be appealing to avid readers. Aoi Bungaku is a collection of classic Japanese literature adaptations; Miss Bernard is a fun little parody of the kind of people who'd read those books. Some of the novels that Aoi Bungaku adapts are also mentioned in Miss Bernard.

The main characters of both animes love literature and from time to time discuss the meaning of the novels.

The characters of both anime have an extensive horizon in the knowledge of literature and other arts. They share this knowledge. In Nana Maru San Batsu answering questions in quizzes, and in Bernard-jou Iwaku. Shiori Kanbayashi discusses with the girlfriend Sawako Machida the facts of the books, light novells, manga, mentioning the related films and anime, from well-known authors.
