Zekkyou Gakkyuu: Tensei

Hello potential fans of this series, welcome. A few things you should know before you watch this anime, don't worry, no spoilers in this review.

1. This anime is better than it's prequel and yes for the anime you can watch this or the prequel first, that's probably why MAL has the anime adaptation listed as "Other" even though the manga is listed as a "sequel."

2. I made a review for the prequel, feel free to read it if you want but know this sequel is much better than the prequel, as this review will convey how.

3. I am not a reader of books, so i ... have not, nor do I plan to read the manga of this series, though i am tempted to do so after seeing this sequel anime... (And judging by the no score for the manga of this anime, I am going to guess its not out in English, sadly... but I'm not going to search to see if I'm right or not, so search and see if you're interested in reading the manga)

With that out of the way, onto the actual review...

Who knew, that a game of hide and seek as well as episode 2's amusement park could actually be scary... yes unlike the 1st which I failed to mention in my review for the prequel, I was getting scared here, which the prequel failed to do. I am not a child and do not get scared from shows/movies/games hardly ever, but this had juuuuust the right tone, setting, music, art, story and such to accomplish this. The art has REALLY improved from the prequel, I'd love this series to get a full and proper adaptation, it REALLY deserves it and imo, NEEDS it too. Its a real shame it hasn't. Its also a shame like it's prequel, we only have 1 min and 30 secs to see, sadly only 2 episodes for this sequel unlike it's prequel's 3 episodes.

I rate this an 8.0, I was really sold on these 2 episodes and the improvements to the anime from it's prequel, especially the art and spookiness of the two stories here. I'd really recommend checking the anime out, it's roughly 7 mins of your life spent watching the anime (both prequel and sequel combined) and you may find like me, you became a fan. You can also use this as a means to gauge interest in if you'd like the manga or not, though be sure to watch this sequel anime before you say yay or nay.

Story/plot
Was important in-regards to life's choices. Many kids live life carefree not knowing of the dangers that await them. Sure they are based on folk legends but with each legend there is some truth. Otherwise they would not last long. I also enjoyed the promotion aspect. A nice little sell of a story to get you to buy their comic that would have more stories.

Art
again was somewhat flat depending which of the two stories you reference. Voice overs works on some still scenes but the camera should still be moving. For without movement there is no suspense. Unless, by the grace ... of god the speaker is someone like Stephen king a master at verbal horror. A rare gem that does not need visuals to make you stain your underwear.

Sound
the character voices were a good match.
