both have fantastic CGI, action, and (kind of) require no prior knowledge of the franchise before going into the movie. Gantz:O has CGI with models that are more akin towards anime (they all look like k-pop stars) whereas Kingsglaive takes a more Hollywood approach with models that are more Western. though the effects in both are definitely cinema notch

Both CGI "Final Fantasy" movies that work as a prequel/sequel to their respective games. Kingsglaive takes place before the events of the XV game whereas Advent Children takes place after the events of it's game's story. Both are aesthetically stunning with great action scenes and directing. Both filled with tie ins and call backs to the lore of their respective worlds. Fans of FF will definitely immensely enjoy both titles.

Both feature stunning CG and vast landscapes if you enjoyed Captain Harlock for the visuals and character then you will enjoy Kingsglaive.

Both Lucis and Albi nations are protected by walls and both are fighting with foreign powerful nations. Both series are set in fictional worlds but have strong similarities with modern times Earth. Both series have some sort of xenophobia to outsiders.

Both are adaptation from a game story. Both of them deliver a cinematic experience in a unique way including a specific fast pacing cuts animation and angle. Best to watch on bigger screen.

Both anime that provide additional content to games in the Final Fantasy series. On the Way to a smile works as more of a side story focusing on a supporting character of VII Denzel whereas Kingsglaive acts as a direct prequel to the plot of XV it also doesn't focus on any of the main characters in XV and instead tells the story preceding theirs with plenty of tie ins and cameos being present in both the game and film.

These anime expand on the story of mainline Final Fantasy titles. Kingsglaive works as a prequel to the most recent game Final Fantasy XV (15) whereas Final Fantasy (OVA) continues on showing the aftermath of the game FF V (5).

A city surrounded by walls; a team set to defend the city and it's royalty from the unknown forces outside the wall; GIANT MONSTERS; a plot woven in mystery, surrounding the main powers and people at hand. Also, all is well till all goes to shites lol

Both prequels to the stories of mainline Final Fantasy games. Both have characters we know from the respective games being given more development. Fans of FF or either game are bound to enjoy both titles.

These are both CGI movies expanding on the stories of mainline Final Fantasy games. Kingsglaive serves as a prequel to the more recent XV whereas Advent Children Complete shows some aftermath to the adored classic VII.
