A beautiful girl with magical powers accompanies a mysterious bishounen with a mysterious past and a dark agenda on a journey. Compared to the girl in Hatenkou Yuugi, Hakushaku's girl is a little more timid and her powers are more passive than active (she can communicate with fairies, but she can't cast spells--at least, not as of the first episode). Also, whereas in Hatenkou Yuugi, the girl is genuinely a companion for her two bishounen friends, in Hakushaku she is more a servant of the duke, and at his mercy.

Mainly I think the producers had the same target audience for these 2 shows - probably 14 year old girls- and are in the same general genre. Having said that they're are pretty enjoyable with pseudo-dark plots and complicated relationships.

It's kind of similar in the concept of two guys traveling with a girl. Although both animes are quite different, where in Hatenkou Yuugi, in my opinion, there is much more comedy and romance, I think you might like this anime a lot.

Two guys and one girl going from place to place looking for trouble and getting out of it in both anime. They both leave you with somewhat an unfinished feeling and thought of bigger story behind it. Both have supernatural elements and somewhat similar characters. Hatenkou Yuugi is a bit more darker do, but they are both lighthearted to watch and finish.

The art quality and the air of mystery are very similar in both. Both have humor and a dark past.

The story lines deal with relatively the same time period or time period styles. It also has a girl who tries to solve some of the supernatural mysteries that occur around her.

A girl on a journey, accompanied by (a) loyal friend(s), meeting different people and having different adventures/tasks to complete in each episode. The beginning starts off in the middle of the adventure and you learn more about what's going on as the series progresses. Sometimes weird, sometimes disturbing... Strong female leads.

Similar adventure style with characters with good hearts and slightly rough edges. Both have action, guns supernatural, adventure, little comedy, with the slight undertone of a romance now and then. If you like one you probably like the other.

Both series revolve around people who were formerly clowns. In Hatenkou Yuugi, the character is Baroqueheat. Likewise, Pierrot is the character in Yakitate Japan.

-short series/half season -a girl traveling w/ characters she meets on her journey -both can be creepy and mysterious in certain episodes -similar character design, (Hampnie Hambart & Alzeid) -(but the art in Sunday Without God is jaw dropping gorgeous)☆_☆ -both have moments that'll make you cry or make you smile -you're in for a adventure if you watch either -however, girls will probably prefer Dazzle more than guys b/c of the bishies ^ω^

Both are slice of life series and contain inklings of comedy. Each episode is a new adventure, a new lesson learned. They focus on what we should really treasure in our short life. Even though the art and characters differ greatly, they have the same feel although the main characters of Hatenkou Yuugi are more emotionally invested with the people they encounter and develop their values and essentially themselves as the journey of life pushes them forward while, the Bandit King, Jin, appears to be a little more indifferent towards the side characters granted, he still ends up saving them, however, he doesn't mature as  read more

I just remember this anime when watching Hatenkou Yuugi

Both feature a headstrong female lead on a journey of self-discovery in a fantasy setting, and they share the same tendency towards sarcastic and absurdist humour.

In both series is a young girl forced to leave her rich home and goes on a journey with a bunch of guys. Both involve fantasy and romance.

Episodic shows with fantasy aspects (magic/alchemy) that involve several meetings with (troubled) people engulfed by greed and tragedy while still managing to stay light and carefree with well placed comedic bits.

The partners of Rahzel are very alike of Fai and Kurogane from Tsubasa according to their character. So it's like they are wandering around without Syoran, Sakura, and Mokona, but having found Rahzel instead =) Both are fantasy and adventure with great accent on partnership and friendship and a bit of romance added.

The heroine in Dazzle/Hatenkou Yuugi is a young, powerful magic user, much like Lina. Their personalities are rather similar, but the world in Hatenkou Yuugi is much darker, especially in the manga. Both lay somewhere in between shounens and comedies, and are primarily happy with some dark moments.

While I feel calling either of these animes "dark" is inaccurate, they do both share somewhat gothic sensibility (more like loli gothic than genuinely gothic). What could be considered dark about these animes is greatly lessened or broken up by the characters' personalities and a healthy does of humor. I think the characters relationships have several similarities as well. Mainly I think the respective creators had the same target audience in mind and catered to them appropriately.

Both seem to have a simular time frame to their storylines, with an adage of the steam punk added in. They include mysteries, which are rather on the bizare side at times, not to mention, it leaves one guessing, nearly at all times.

Both of these Anime twist historical with sci fi into it. They also have a horror feel to it, though to a majorly scary one. Both series left me wanting more.

Both Anime's have a rather dark side to them, yet still manage to have the lightness that is needed to pull it through to be very likable. I also see Sakon carring Ukon around all the time, and Razel ends up carring around her teddy bear.

On the basic level these two animes are very dissimilar, but ignoring that, they have a very similar feel. Both deal with powers of some sort and have somewhat stand alone episodes. The main characters are young girls who are strong (more physically so in HY) and going on adventures of sorts. Also, they both share a mix of humor and creepiness (a little more creep and a little less humor in GH).

Although they have totally different plots, in both animes, the main girl is being protected by two guys. Both girls have very strong powers.

If you liked one, you should like the other. Although Hatenkou Yuugi is more of an action and Spice and Wolf is more serious, both are good fantasy series with quite similar feeling. And as for leads... I think that Horo and Rahzel are very alike in many aspects.

There's a similar feeling about character interactions and dialogues. Togame reminds me of Rahzel (in behaviour and partially appearance) and they're both accompanied by men who protect them. The comedy is also similar in both series.

Hatenko Yugi, “Dazzle,” is a new anime perfect for those finished with VK. The three are in a very similar environment with mysterious, and yet at the same time elegant, fantasy situations that they must conquer while learning about the characters' intertwined and intriguing pasts that shape their personalities and actions now. The characters are also very similar to Yuuki (Rahzel), Zero (Alzeid) and Kaname (Baroqueheat). (The character of Alzeid even looks a LOT like Zero...) The mystery behind their pasts will keep you hooked along with choosing which guy is the best. The situation of dark fantasy adventure with  read more

Both have a lolita plot based story, but while Kodomo is more of a slice of life comedy, Hatenkou Yuugi is more action and romance.
