I consider myself a fairly normal person who happens to like anime. I started watching anime after some friends introduced it to me. I wasn't that impressed at first, but I slowly started falling in love. I fell in love the possibilities anime holds, that only a visual medium could achieve. The first anime I got hooked onto was Bleach. I loved the newness and originality of the storyline; it definitely was something you wouldn't see coming out of America. Anyway, that was a long time ago and my love Bleach vanished with the Bount arc. I'm still angry that Bleach wasted it potential and turned into mindless drivel.

I still watch shounen, but I have branched out. My favorite genres are: adventure, slice of life, comedy, historical, samurai, and supernatural. I'll watch about anything as long as it is good. Although, I do hate most dramas, ecchi, and moe anime. I can't stand the "will they or won't they get together" animes, instantly dropped. I also have a bad habit of watching reverse harems and anime filled with bishounen. Ah, their pretty faces distract me from the lack of a plot line. #Shallow #Easily Amused My main focus isn't the setting and genre as much as it is about the characters. A quick look at my list shows the type of people I like. Absurd, interesting, out-of-the-box, multi-layered, and original characters are what I look for. I also have a fetish for cocky and sadistic characters, probably a result of my dating life.

As for my rating system, I tend to be pretty strict and view originality, enjoyment, plot progression, and character development fairly equally. Here is a ratings breakdown:

10- A true masterpiece that became a work of art. Something I will always remember. Given less than 2% of the time. Would recommend to anyone.
9- Fantastic but not quite a masterpiece. Would recommend to anyone.
8- Enjoyable but has plot holes or lack of character development. Would recommend to most.
7- Better than average and was enjoyable but not original. Would not remember unless I reread the synopsis. Would only recommend to fans of the genre.
6- Usually just a "quick fix" or bad habit. Falls short of its' potential. Just squeaks above average. Most shounen titles fit this bill, but I enjoy them more than the other series. Lots of problems with originality, plot progression/holes, and character development. Would only recommend to fans of the genre.
5- So average it is sad. Nothing worth mentioning.
