When I watched this anime, I do see couple of parallel between Evangelion & Kuromukuro: Alien/extraterrestrial forces have tried to conquer earth in the past and again in modern time. This happened in both series. Efi Dorg in Kuromukuro are very much like Angels in Evangelion. The mecha used in Kuromukuro is based on alien technology. Eva in Evangelion are also based on alien material. Yukina & Shinji are young teens that started out as inexperienced pilots. Yukina's mother, Hiromi is the director and chief researcher of UN Laboratory in Kurobe is very much like Shinji's father, Gendo being the director of NERV. Yukina's  read more

In both of these series the main character will, one way or the other find themselves in an unfamiliar environment along with their giant robot. They will have to adjust to the new environment whilst pondering what they will do from then on.

War betweens Aliens and Humans. The atmosphere is similar--- no one knows when an (mecha) alien will come down to attack the earth. Great mecha fights, and there's some kind of Romance between the male MC and female MC

Although Inuyasha & Kuromukuro are different, they shared couple of interesting parallel. When I watched Kuromukuro, I'm being kept reminded of Inuyasha as I continued to watch the show. -Kennosuke Ouma & Inuyasha are both characters from the past interacting with modern setting. Both Kennosuke & Inuyasha both came from Sengoku Era. -Kennosuke was awakened by Yukina in different but almost similar to how Kagome awakened Inuyasha. -Kennosuke's protectee, Yukihime looks a lot like Yukina in a parallel manner like Kikyo in Inuyasha resemble Kagome. Kennosuke protected Yukihime in the same manner Inuyasha protected Kikyo. -Kennosuke and Yukina's dynamic rocky relationship mirror Inuyasha & Kagome's rocky  read more

-both have similar feeling and concept of robotic -both involve loved one going away to outer space to save the world although kuromukuro is a better version of darling in the franxx, you should watch both.

Note: This is mostly a one-sided recommendation; Kuromukuro is much better of a show than Gibiate (as you might've gathered from Gibiate's current score of 4.50). The main similarity between the two is that both shows have a central character that's a samurai out of time, adjusting to the modern world. Kuromukuro is a mecha show while Gibiate is more of a survival horror show, but both feature some odd antagonists. The female protagonist of each also bear similarities; both are ordinary girls sucked into a strange and dangerous world at the beginning of the show, with some romantic tensions between them and the male protagonist  read more

- Both anime has dual pilot on their mechas (mostly male and female duo). - Fighting against unknown beings from God knows where. - Characters having mysterious past and the established worlds are quite intriguing. - Good dynamics between main casts. - Underrated mecha shows imo

Both are mecha vs aliens. Similar setting from academy.

!Spoiler warning! Similarities: - MC gets swallowed up by dragon/machine - MC becomes the only one that can ride/control it - MC is forced to join a government team to help them use the dragon/machine - MC tries to quit at least once - later in the series, more similar dragon/machines appear - real purpose/origin of the dragons/machines is discovered at the end of course there are a lot of differences but the overall vibes of the shows are also similar :))

Flip-flopped settings and lots of characterization alongside lots of mecha action. Really interesting to compare and contrast.

Reverse isekai showing how people have to adapt to where they are now and deal with the past that comes back.

Eternal samurai battle for centuries. Both are mecha series which feature conflict rooted in a historical struggle.

Genre: Mecha, Drama, Sci-Fi, some comedy Both are kind of underrated anime where the characters grow on you and the story slowly reveals itself to be decent. One main character in both series is inserted into an unfamiliar and uncomfortable situation with a group of complete strangers. These groups of people grow to understand one another and work together.

Both have a displaced warrior/soldier that pilots a mecha. He is proficient at his martial skills, and is initially cold and serious. He meets a regular girl and has to adjust to what it means to live a peaceful life in a different setting. In the end, he finds new things to protect and better reasons to fight. Both take some time to get rolling but have pretty solid characters and plots.

Samurai + mecha + badass main character Kuromukuro has a better plot with better characters. The story is less convoluted as well but both are a decent watch if you're craving more of the same

- A protagonist from "somewhat" a different time/place. - Mechs - The protagonist being humanity's hope - Endings are somewhat satisfyingly similar

Both are mecha anime with a romantic pair that are the only ones who can pilot The Mysterious Mecha that all contemporary mechas are derived from. One of them is a somewhat clueless going-nowhere youth who is related to someone famous in the mecha circles and has a family member who disappeared researching the truth about the early mechas' origins. The other one is displaced among normal humans, but has a deep connection with The Mecha which is of special interest to contemporary scientific bodies. Their previous partner didn't work out. Their current partner bears a striking resemblance to their first.
