Akagami no Shirayuki-hime 2nd Season

Shirayuki and Zen Wistalia have finally confirmed their romantic feelings for each other, and everyone has resumed their daily lives. Shirayuki remains an apprentice court herbalist at the royal palace of Clarines, and Zen continues his duties alongside his aides.

However, their daily routines are disrupted when Crown Prince Izana, Zen’s older brother, receives an invitation from Raji Shenazard, the prince of Tanbarun. The herbalist finds herself ordered to go to Tanbarun for seven days, to build a new friendship with the formerly selfish and haughty ruler who once ordered Shirayuki to become his concubine. Along the way, Shirayuki is bound to run into trouble once again, as she is sought by a mysterious boy named Kazuki, someone she has never met.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime 2nd Season, an exciting sequel! Overall, I find that this second season remains on the same basis compared to the first season even if I found the plot more interesting. It's a pleasure to follow the protagonists of the series! However, even if they are more than ever together and they even kissed, it's a bit of a shame that the relationship between Zen and Shirayuki does not evolve as I hoped, including a marriage. It's not a big deal. The animation and the character design remain the same. Otherwise, in terms of the soundtrack, I like the opening but the ending ... is a bit below. The OST is constantly good. In short, this season is always a pleasure to follow!

Mixed Feelings

I re-rated this, I was wondering what's the point of having Shirayuki in this series? Because of her red hair? Because she can influenced others of the way she speaks? People don't changed by just talking to them especially if that certain person is full of themselves honestly. The mangaka is literally either hypocrite or someone who is shut in. I finds this series lame. Maybe I should read the manga but nah I don't want to waste my precious time reading a moderate storyline there are 25000 anime and coming more. This anime is lame, it's lame and boring for the season 1 and ... no different for season 2.

I'm a little bit surprised by all the raves for the second season of Snow White with the Red Hair, but to me it was such a chore to watch through. A lot of the positives in the first season - Shirayuki being kidnapped and escaped her own home, fought back against her captors, try to enter the castle on her own talent..etc. kinda lost in this season. Instead, Season 2 devolved into exploring the side characters more (not bad in itself) but the role of damsel-in-distress from Shirayuki get worse here.

Where is my capable heroine? All Shiruyaki did this season was drinking ... tea, lecturing Raj, got herself captured by some evil pirate lady, and conveniently rescued by Zen.

The only positive episode that I truly enjoyed was Mitsuhide's loss memory arc, which was hilarious, and his backstory with Kiki. Even Obi shine here in this season. As for Shirayuki, I don't know, if we replace her with a lamp, I feel like the story wouldn't change much. She continued to feel happiness in her relationship with Zen, reunite with her father, and be in good companies of her friends. It's hard to care about her when I'm not exactly sure what's the conflict in the story for her character is anymore, and the lack of portraying a shojo heroine with more negative emotions - anger, hatred, pain, kind of make it less relatable to follow through. I guess maybe I'm a little bit too old and jaded for some feel-good shojo romance. What a shame, beacuse the 1st season of Snow White with the Red Hair was pretty decent.
