Kuroshitsuji is about a demon butler, Sebastian, while Majin Tantei is about a demon detective, Neuro. Slightly different, but very similar characters. The shows both contain a similar atmosphere as well.

The central characters in both of these anime are a detective (albeit forced in MTTN's case) and his/her supernatural slightly creepy "assistant" with unusual abilities. Both assistant characters seem to have a kind of hunger for solving mysteries, though not literal hunger in Un-Go's case. Both anime are episodic mystery stories with a twisted premise. MTTN has an active element of (dark) humor though while Un-Go appears to be more serious.

right off, i'd have to say that ghost hunt is the better of the two [even though majin hasn't finished airing yet].. but both are episodic series with mysteries being solved.. a young high school girl with no family follows around a mysterious sempai-mystery-solver.. um.. there isn't a whole lot as far as character development goes in either of the series.. majin has more bizarre [and shocking] humor while ghost hunt sticks to the paranormal shockers without the laughs.. both involve the supernatural-majin's main character is a demon with really strange mystery-solving methods.. while ghost hunt focuses on the religious or spiritual methods of  read more

Same Animation Studio, OP by same band, deals with the supernatural, overall both are excellent series.

Both anime deals with unorthodox detective work and of course, demons and other mythological facts. Although Neuro is a bit darkish in tone compared to Loki, both will satisfy any detective-themed anime fan's delight. ^__^

There both about mystery and detective related. The main characters are detectives, or they work for them.

There be a demon in Neuro. There be a girl from hell in Hell Girl. This is MAL--RECOMMENDATION TIME! Neuro is your typical detective series reliant on episodic clue-gathering, followed by the big reveal at the end. Hell Girl isn't, but its episodic unravelling-reasons-for-hatred, followed by punishment being dished out at the end, does make the two rather similar. Getting something new each episode makes them highly watchable; easy to pick-up without having to remember details. Neuro's lighthearted Shounen Jump vibe allowed for a more forgiving attitude when dealing with one-dimensional 'black & white' characters (can only do so much inside 20 minutes!), but in  read more

These are both detective anime with little problems to solve that let the main detective come close to a large mystery of him/herself. Also, these series have people that seem to be cursed by fate.

-Dectectives -Demons -A badass, sadistic male lead -A female lead that's not the damsel in distress or fan-service type -Amazingly hilarious comedy -Can seem childish but have actually very mature content (it doesn't show in MTNN in the first few episodes, but believe me it's NOT a child friendly anime)

Maybe the only one thing that links these series together is the main characters. Neuro and Alucard are both from Hell (in some way) and have connections with devils. Both of them have young, not very smart and quick-witted female assistants. And finally they have the same charisma, arisen from their nature.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro and Shinrei Tantei Yakumo are fairly similar as you may have guessed by the title itself, both being in the genres of Mystery and Supernatural. The main characters are also seemingly similar, a male and a female. Both leading females have lost a family member that they loved, and happen to meet the leading males, who have a special ability that help solve the cases within the series. So, if you're a fan of vise versa - do watch.

An uncomfortable mix of serious plot, weird magic protagonists, questionable gags, forced humour, oft-repeated catchphrases, and 00's art in a private detective setting. Some crimes happen too I guess.

They both are about explaining deaths. In Neuro there's this 'demon' solving the mysteries and in Umineko there's this witch who says that the people died by using magic. The guy doesn't believe it and tries to explain everything logically.

Both have "people" solving mysteries with a supernatural aspect to the mysteries

Zombie Loan and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro are quite similar they both solve mysteries and the main females are both very timid and shy. Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is more gorey than zombie loan but if you like that stuff and mysteries there both perfect for you.

Different genre's but same characters. Kyouko from Skip Beat is basically the same as Yako. They both have the same hair style and character. Also both Heroine's seem to be abused by the male protagonists.

Both involve murder cases in which victims are placed in a box of some sort. Both stories have supernatural events caused by demons but in Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro the demon is defeating another "demon" and in Mouryou no Hako the medians are defeating the demon. Both include supernatural elements and mysteries

A high school student gets involved in solving bizarre mysteries. They are partnered with a very eccentric person who has a mysterious past. She solves mysteries in order to uncover her past.

In both shows the heroine eats a lot. They were both alone in the beginning but after meeting the male lead, they meet new people and experience many things. Both anime have comedy. Both male leads are not normal.
report Recommended by emilyslash
Both have a mysterious and supernatural element in them and have a deeper plot as the story moves along. The plots themselves are pretty different, but the genres (and dare I say, the art) is kind of similar too.

The same type of protagonists - Neuro and Yuko have a lot of common. They are both supernatural creatures, both are mighty and both deal with different detective stories, which in the end are connected with mystic and supernatural. There are also their apprentices in human world - for Yuko it's Watanuki, for Neuro - Yako. And both Yuko and Neuro give their apprentices knowledge, a place to help people and expierence... for to leave them in future.

-Lets strat with the most obvious in those both seires, they are both have the same mangaka Yuusei, Matsui. -Both shows the seek to know the ULTIMATE Mystorious thing in the storyline such as "who really is koro-sensei?" or on ther other show - "what really happned to Yako's father?" and so on...! -Both animes has a "Unique" main character which isn't like any other regular person -Both main character can't be actually identifed as Good or Bad personallity as for their S (Sadistic) side of them, or on the other side, to destroy Earth (ansatsu kyoushitsu). -Both seires has a villain with an unknown personallity or past or  read more

These are both episodic fantasy/mystery. However Neuro is more comedic while Witch Hunter Robin has a darker feel.

Characters... Hare and Guu, aswell as Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro both feature a torment, inhuman character attatching themselves to an unfortunate youngster. The unfortunate youngster has no choice but to put up with their new 'friend' and is fully aware of this individuals vast range of supernatural abilities. Both supernatural characters litterally have more then one face and can portary a cute 'I'm just an innocent tag along' exteriour towards others. Both regular characters are fairly balanced individuals; they're not sickly sweet, they're not too quiet and they're not push-overs either. Story wise... Both have a good balance of; plot foundation, odd humor and character development.

You will like Hyouka if you liked Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. It has the same feeling - looking for interesting mysteries.

Meet Lawrence reincarnated! The Private Eye with white hair looks the same, and I don't mean similar or alike, I mean totally, totally the same. I could swear it's him. The guy can be spotted about 5 mins into the show. Well, nothing else similar.

Both are mysterious and in an episodic style. (Ok, maybe 2 episodes) Very interesting characters and good pacing to keep you on your toes. However, Darker than Black is graphic and realistic while MTNN is more fantasy based.

The art style in both has a certain stylistic "bad and unattractive, yet awesome" quality to it. This is more apparent in the manga versions of both series, but the animation manages to capture that. In addition, both series have a lot of battles of wits, Kaiji with its gambling and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro with solving detective cases. Add a little extremism - for example Neuro's physical and mental abuse of Yako and the ridiculous stakes Kaiji wagers in some of his gambles - and it's easy to see at a glance why a fan of one would enjoy the other.

Shion no Ou is about a girl whose parents get killed and she uses the Game to find out the killer. On the other hand, Majin Tantei is about a girl whose father is dies and she is recruited to by a demon to help solve mysteries for the demon to eat. She uses this premise to find out what happened to her father. The basic flow of both stories are very similar, its just that one is about killers and murderers, while the other is about a game. ultimately the idea is to find out the criminal who committed the act against the lead characters.  read more

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro and Yu-Gi-Oh! (Toei version) are similar in several ways. They are both Shonen Jump series. They are both highly episodic but have extended arcs in similar places (Shadi-Aya, KaibaLand-HAL and MonsterWorld-South America). They both involve someone punishing wrongdoers with the help of mental torture. They both have a recurring villain (Kaiba-X) who wants to beat the protaganists. They both have a cast of eccentric characters and one-shot villains. Both series have a case with a serial bomber. Yu-Gi-Oh however has less death and a larger emphasis on friendship, while Neuro has more shock value and is focused more on the villain's psychology.

Well, the best word will probably be EPIC. to put it simple, both series have this epicness feeling in them, even though the general atmosphere is quite the opposite.

Tall dark mysterious supernatural males partnered with high school female. That's pretty much where the similarities end though...Neuro is nothing like Haji, considering that Haji is Saya's servant and Yako is Neuro's slave...lol

Both have young girls being aided by men of a demonic nature. Both men have a bajillion different techniques at hand and both men cause constant anguish to the girls that they help.

Both are mystery shows that came out in the same season, centered around an eclectic group of children and adults. Both have supernatural elements and a child-detective, although in Majin Tantei she's just a front for the mystery-solving demon whereas in Suteki, the boy is a genius.

I think viewers of Keroro Gunso would also enjoy Majin Tantei Nougami (if you're into mystery story-lines) because of the sarcasm and funny relationship between Neuro and Yako. As far as similarities go that is about it :)

Similar style of comedy, Dokuro is the more raunchy and silly of the two.

Wonderful character development, great plotline.

Both series have a similar main character dynamic. Neuro and Elias are both monsters who don't understand humans very well and need help to learn to do so. They both have a young female partner to teach them about the human world. Yako and Chise are both strong female leads who love to help others. The shows also share a similar main villain. Kaitou X and Cartaphilus are basically the same character. The settings and genre of the shows are very different, but if you like the characters in one, you're likely to like them in the other too.

Neuro & Baka are both crazy sadists who flick from innocent to evil in moments. I find myself watching one and thinking of the other. While one is a demon and the other is an alien, they are both other-worldy psychos. And the quirkyness they bring is very similar too.

the cases in the anime led to a crime at the start of the anime

Although they are different in many ways (for one, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro isn't "yuri"), they are alike by how one of the main characters (Maria & Neuro) are both insane and have a sadistic personality; there's also the fact of the other main characters in it, who are forced to become their "slaves" (Yoko & Kananko). Also, the other characters in both of these animes are constantly easily decieved. I think that wathcing Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro will remind you strongly of Maria and Kananko from Maria†Holic.

Both shows are about solving puzzles. In Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, its about the puzzle a murderer creates. While in Phi Brain, Kaito risks his life to solve puzzels
