There be a demon in Neuro. There be a girl from hell in Hell Girl. This is MAL--RECOMMENDATION TIME!
Neuro is your typical detective series reliant on episodic clue-gathering, followed by the big reveal at the end. Hell Girl isn't, but its episodic unravelling-reasons-for-hatred, followed by punishment being dished out at the end, does make the two rather similar. Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is the comical form of Jigoku Shoujo, at least in my opinion. Each episode focuses on a different mystery/crime/injustice that must be solved, or in Neuro's case, eaten. Jigoku Shoujo has more serious pyschological undertones than Majin Tentei Nougami Neuro, but they're both well animated and very enjoyable to watch.
Both series are a case-by-case episodic manner, with some cases taking up more than one episode. Also, both are equally supernatural and while Neuro is more comedic and light hearted than Jigoku Shoujo, they both have a dark air to them.

It really looks a lot like each other, it has the same feeling, even though Jigoku Shoujo feels a little darker.
In Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro there is a murder each episode, and they are going to find out what happened and who did it,
while in Jigoku Shoujo there is someone who hates someone each episode, they are going to look at what happened and why they hate that person,
In Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Neuro ends up eating the "mysteries",
while in Jigoku Shoujo, Enma Ai ends up sending people to hell.
It's not exactly the same, but it really looks alike a lot. I think that
