You can do anything ! (If you win)
Based on the classic RPG by AliceSoft Tournament of the Gods is among the highlights of 90's adaptations by Pink Pineapple. Featuring the protagonist Sid who enters the legendary tournament without knowing it's dark secret..
Animation is above average at best but what sells the story is it's interesting plot and subplots who are devoted to give us more insight to how the world functions and the greater cost of participating, especially if you're a female partner. I won't spoil anything but female viewers beware.
Characters are rich in color, personality and are of course varied. Covering everything from

what one would expect from the genre of fantasy, elves, demons, angels and a lot more.
It gives us an solid RPG feel with it's neat touches to training montages in the main dungeon and how it introduces the supporting cast. Whom guide the hero towards his fate while also opening up their own struggles within this bleak and dark world that they live in.
While a fantasy it's a rather dark fantasy with it's themes and later disturbing scenes of violence both sexual and not. It has more in common with Berserk (1997) than Rance: Quest for Hikari (2014) so for those who are interested in checking out darker fantasy series with an edge it's an easy sell.
One should not take for granted that this is solid show regardless of it's content and with a satisfying combination of sex, action, romance, adventure and a solid effort to develop characters that feel 3D more than just being 2D. Further than that it's a highly exciting and thrilling show to watch.
The Ending theme "Yume No Image" by Konami Yoshida (Voice actress of Hazuki) is a catchy tune that gives the viewers some levity after everything that has happened throughout the show.
Highly recommended!
