Hurricane Polymar is mostly known as a Gatchaman clone as both have similar designs being a caped superhero with a helmet and both have abilities to create a windstorm. Although Hurricane had more power and abilities and he fought alone while Gatchaman mostly relies on tactics

Both are classic and influental anime superheroes by the same studio and creator. Both features superheroes that wears helmet and rides on planes and vehicles. Both features alot of melodrama and action

Both are original 70's sci-fi series that was made by the same studio, they both also had similar characters, dynamics, and same voice actors for some roles

While not nearly as self referential or self aware as Samurai Flamenco is, Gatachaman is the spiritual grandfather to the show. It's more serious and doesn't lean on the fourth wall (and frankly isnt nearly as crazy), but it's very much in the same vein.

Both have the same kind of spandex white uniform and helmet. Both appeals to 70’s art and even sports the similar hairstyle. It’s like Casshern is the missing member of G-force.

Nadesico makes several very direct references to Gatchaman - most notably in the beloved anime of the crew, Gekiganger. There is lots of wonderful symmetry between these two shows. It you enjoy one, it is likely you will enjoy the other.
