What the 2 have in common: They were both sequels of their parent anime, where it still involves being in the game world, however, in LH the plot was just a continuation of the sequel, while SAO 2 is compose of 2 additional arcs.

A continuation of the 1st season of the Log Horizon Anime, this adds on to the story and further develops the concept of the players who are trapped in the MMORPG trying to get home. The anime's main focus is not the same as overlord as ' Ainz ' in overlord does not have any intent to return back to the real world, however the main concept of the MC(s) being trapped in a MMORPG world still applies to this anime.

+ Both are great game-inspired isekai story + Both have interesting characters + Both expand the world/isekai understanding from the prequel + Both tell stories from side characters perspective as well, not only focus on MC + Both have terrific OP/ED songs + Both are NOT Swort Art Online + Both don't overuse harem and romantic aspects

One doesn't simply question the Unlimited Budget Works. All jokes aside. If you are a fan of the following genre you might consider investing your time on this two series. Plot, Epic OST/BGM, Fantasy, Overpowering, Having two characters doing two different things in a linear time-line of a video without splitscreen(Both Log and Fate do it without killing your head don't worry), Know what is going on but don't really know what is going on. Yes that a genre. You can just use a that little perception of yours and still understand what is going on but not 100% sure that is really behind it or  read more

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar is like the watered down version of Log Horizon (without the complicated information stuff). I think Hai to no Gensou no Grimgar is more on the drama side. Both are isekai anime where players are sent in the game and does quest for money.

Not the same type at all, most people would rather compare Log Horizon to SAO, but many moments of the second season of Log Horizon actually reminded me of Fairy Tail that I hadn't seen for a very long time. Looking backwards, I think the rythm is quite similar, and there is something in the OST that you can find in both shows (very good OST btw). The comparison stops there as I believe Log Horizon is far more mature than Fairy Tail ;)

When I was watching the second season of Gate, it reminded me a lot of Log Horizon. A group of people interacting with a world where they are significantly stronger than everything else (for the most part), and the ramifications of that interaction. There are obviously differences, but I'd say that's a big theme of both.

Both anime revolve around a male MC who is good at solving problems, regardless of if its strategy for fight or war, or fix machinery and coming up with plans, The aura of both anime are similar however the Male MC In both of this anime are similar but also have there differences. Setting is different in terms of Log horizon being set in a game and Uta' no Kamen It a world full of Animal ears and Tails, But still have that action theme running strongly through both animes. Definitely recommend watching both these anime

Strong, subtle, overpowered character stuck in a game-like fantasy world.

They are both about people that gets transferred from real world to some kind of fantasy world. In this world, everything is decided by games and the main character successfully starts to remodel the world as they wish. Both are adventure, fantasy, action a game genres.
