What the 2 have in common: They were both sequels of their parent anime, where it still involves being in the game world, however, in LH the plot was just a continuation of the sequel, while SAO 2 is compose of 2 additional arcs.

In both anime, the main hero is asked by someone to join world of game/world where everything is decided by games. Both are adventure and fantasy, but while in No Game No Life the main character(s) are trying to get to the top to rule the world, in SAO II the main character is trying to join ranks of top players to got closer to main antagonist.

Bot are about people who gets into virtual game world. but while in Log Horizon they do it unwillingly, in Sword Art Online II they do it voluntarily. Both are action, adventure, fantasy, game and shounen. WHile Log Horizon is more "medival", Sword Art Online II is setted in a world where guns are main weapons.

Although Btooom! has a lot of recommendations towards SAO season 1, it is actually more comparable to SAO II (first arc), because of the: - modern weapons (guns and sniper rifles in one, grenades and explosives in the other, instead of magic spells and swords); - similar Earth-like environments (such as savannahs, forests, urban areas, instead of fantasy world); - two lead/main character relationship is similar (both focus on trying to survive together in both anime, instead of finding a way out). - more similar atmosphere.

After watching both shows analytically, I found several similarities such as futuristic technology, several fight scenes, dark themes, the theme of life and death, and a plot twist at the end. Both protagonists also have many similarities. Disclaimer: This is by no means meant to be humorous. All connections were made analytically after watching both shows. I am NOT taking any shots at either shows. Update: jk they both suck

While both shows are not exactly well-acclaimed in the character and story departments, they harbor an uncommon quality that may appeal to some fans of the sci-fi niche: Accurate references to real science principles and technologies. Throughout these series, there are moments where one may think, "Wow, I didn't expect that what I've learned in that science lesson has anime references!". "Lol. That's quite an interesting application of tech." "When will this piece of tech be sold at my electronic store?" To prevent spoilers, I won't list the examples ;). These shows aren't for everyone, but if you crave some sci-fi elements that could make the anime world  read more

both anime are VRMMORPG anime with some darker undertones although with Infinite Dendrogram the game world work much in real life with the Tains (NPCs) being mortal so failure of a quest for permanently end a Tains life give more weight to the game. in SAO II the first fourteen episode (twenty four total not including recap) is center around a player in GGO (a post apocalypse wild west shot them up game )that has a "death gun" that allow them to kill player in real life. the two are most similar when comparing the Calibur arc and the mother's Rosario arcs of SAO  read more

Both share teenage MC who can be considered as pretentious loners but end up having many girls surround them. And those girls end up falling in love with the MC thanks to their nice personality that like to help others. The setting and premise iare different tho, one is set in highschool mostly while the other is in game. Watch both if you want harem with a pretentious loner MC.

Strong, subtle, overpowered character stuck in a game-like fantasy world.

For me, the series has similar build to SAO itself from the first season. IS 2 has Houki and Tatenashi, SAO 2 has Asuna and Sinon. Of course Ichika is Kirito who is surrounded by girls developing a similar harem. The only difference is that the other genres are somewhat different. But both is set in the future.

The main characters of both shows are strong glasses-wearing girls whose trauma for having killed someone in the past, but have to fight. Both shows genres are action and fantasy, and they both have funny, action, and sad moments in the end. If you like Sinon you'll like Mirai.

Druaga no Tou: The Aegis of Uruk is an RPG-like anime, with hints of romance, action and fantasy. There's also drama, similar to SAO and girl-in-distress feeling like, sometimes. I advise you to try it

Kirigaya Kazuto and Kazehaya Kamito are OP, awesome and all the girls fall in love with them. Both main characters must enter a tournament to uncover a secret. In SAO, Kirito must be the top player in Bullet of Bullet ( BoB) in order to face Death Gun. Also deal with a past issue that haunts him and others too. While in Blade Dance, Kamito enters Blade Dance tournament in order to recover what he lost. Kamito uses the same weapon as Kirito. A holy sword or in SAO case - Dark Repulsor. Both anime airing this Summer 2014.

Both are set in another world where people supposedly won't die even when killed there. Both shows have the same feeling. There are action with gun and blades, light-hearted moments, survival theme, mysterious incidents that leads to annihilation of people from both worlds, and FEEL-inducing events in the end of the shows.
