Kill La Kill is overwhelmingly close to Project A-Ko, both acting as parodies of 80's anime and culture. With similar tone and characters, there is no doubt one influenced the other. The plot is often random and/or ridiculous, with no structure and constant action. There is plenty of fanservice and cheesy references.

Both are classic anime from the '80, when I said this I mean it in every aspect possible, from artstyle to animation and direction, even the genres are action and sci-fi, classic '80. Besides that both have lovable overpowered redheads female protagonist, did I mention there's lots of fights in both?

girls as the main persona going , or are in outer space with beside the action, those oldskool ecchi moments and standouts that will never get old. ova´s like these are just sadly distant memorie´s , its not made anymore like this and i miss it!

80´s girl power the japanese way WHATSOEVER! ridicilous fights, lots of ecchi moments and ofc funny funny...... well anyway both have a lady as main charachter(s)

Two over-the-top, well-animated '80s sci-fi anime with girl protagonists and an emphasis on giant robots and outer space. Both affectionately parody the anime of their day, are light-hearted, have lots of '80s pop, and and favor awesomeness over logic.

Want a taste of non-stop action and over-the-top chaos? Try one or both of these classic anime movies! The ridiculousness of either movie is non-stop till the credits roll, as the main characters engage in some of the weirder fights and battles seen in the anime medium. Project A-ko is more on the meta side of the equation, as it references/parodies various other classic anime made in years prior to its release. Meanwhile, Dead Leaves looks and acts out like something one might expect to see on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim instead of a typical anime block in Japan.

The best way to describe Project A-Ko is that it's like that Grandmother of Kill La Kill: with it's over top High school students dynamics and unusual clubs, and One Punch Man: with it's Over powered Main and satirical action anime comedy that keeps twisting exceptions.

High school girls going on wacky, fast-paced adventures with a heavily-implied yuri love triangle

Old movie/ova with female leads possessing superhuman strength, lots of funny moments and some over the top fights. However Assemble insert is more of the parody of typical anime setting (A simple minded girl fighting for government instead of police) and making fun of advertisement in anime industry while PROJECT A-Ko is more of over the top action comedy with references of older works.

Hilariously overpowered highschool girl fights high-tech killing machines built by a female rival who wants the MC's closest friend all to herself. Lots of zaniness and collateral damage happens.

Both of the female leads are very similar. Both look similar and are very ditsy/perhaps almost even "special". Both are different series. In Tenshi ni Narumon! Noelle wants to be angle while in the A-ko movies and series it looks a yuri harem the way the other two females fight each other to be Shiko Kotobuki friend.

Both are 80's sci-fi parody OVAs which feature a red-haired protagonist and some great space/robot action scenes. They poke fun at the genre and actually are better than many serious OVAs of that time. The animation is some of the best of the period and there are some funny moments in both.

This 3-minute special for promoting the NES port/version of Valis: The Fantasm Soldier was directed by 2 famous directors, Katsuhiko Nishijima (yes, the same person who directed Project A-Ko). The other director is Hideaki Anno (the same Anno who would later create Neon Genesis Evangelion). If you looked at Yuko's design in the animation promo, she look just like Eiko "A-ko" Magami with blue hair. Now because Nishijima directed this short alongside Anno, now we know why Yuko in the promo short looks too much like A-Ko in term of character design. If you want to see A-Ko's look alike, look no further  read more

Both feature an ordinary-looking schoolgirl who nevertheless possesses some superpowers and fights evil. Besides, both are quite old works that have action with a hint of comedy.

Ditzy girls, crazy weaponry, rescue attempt, and guns-a-blazzing where surprisingly nobody dies from the amount of ammo used. If you like older anime that mixes comedy and firepower lightheartedly, these are for you.

Both feature: forced marriages, attempted rape, brawling/kickass women, and social hierarchy.

Goldfish warning is kind of like C-ko became god, re-made A-ko in her own image and made B-ko head of state.
