Nobunaga the Fool

Both are mecha that focus on the MC who is outsmarts the world. Code Geass was a masterpiece and Nobunaga is airing but you can thing of Nobunaga the Fool as Code Geass in the shugun period 

Both are about people using people using giant mecha's to take power. Code Geass uses a historical form of government with an all powerful king, similar to Nobunaga the Fools' King Arthur and some of the characters from Nobunaga the Fool are actual historical figures such as Julius Ceasar and Jeanne d'Arc.  

Both Nobunaga and Horizon are scifi anime where historical "characters" are present. I feel as if there is any, ANY show to recommend it would have to be Horizon.  

The blend of historical content with futuristic elements (feudal era, historical characters, mechs, etc...) can be found in both of these series. 

-Both series involves cultural themes, mechas, and 2 parallel worlds -Both series involves a prince (Van / Nobunaga) who is very skilled swordman and mecha pilot. Also both series have a character who is beloved by the main female character and the princess (Allen / Nobunaga) -Both series involves a girl with Divination powers (Hitomi / Jeanne) who comes from a parallel world and falls in love for the main character Personally, I'm a huge fan of Escaflowne and I'm glad to see a new anime with a very similar development, following its own way, obviously. But I think both Nobunaga lovers and Escaflowne lovers must watch both series. read more 

The Story is written by the same person. It is about a girl with mysterious powers and a man from another world who is a ruler. The events that take place here are influenced by what Tarot Cards are drawn.  

Both have the Oda Nobunaga influence in the plot and both have many battles too... The only diference is about that,Nobunagun is a fight against aliens and Nobunaga The Fool is a fight of each clã against other... Both are very enjoyable. 

!!!-BEFORE READING KNOW THAT I COULD PUT MUCH MORE HERE BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO SPOIL HOW BOTH OF THE STORIES ENDED-!!! Both of these anime show how one person is given great power with which came great responsibility and we see how they develop as well as what they sacrifice in order to reach their end goal. They also have in sense their close friend yet greatest enemy strike them down in order for the true meaning of their goals to come true. Both stories also show a one sided love story Nobunaga and Himiko (NTF) Light Yagami [kira] and Misa Amane (DN) and show the femal characters are willing to do anything for the ones they love.  read more 

They are both about the Sengoku period. In both animes there are samurai and cute girls. Both are quite funny and interesting.  

-Both anime involves historical persona that are fighting each other. They even have some similar historical persons like Alexander the Great and King Arthur. -They both involve a battle for the Holy Grail but in Nobunaga the Fool it appears in the last episodes.
