How is this similar with SH? Well it's simple, when I first watched EschaLogy's first episode it made me feel I was playing a videogame and that's the same feeling you get when you watch SH. Digging deeper you'll find that these two series also share a similar RPG action/fantasy story that develops in an old village.

"RPG like flavor" and some sort of naivety... thats what makes this two series alike so far. Though Atelier's first episode lack that random jokes from Campanella... It might get better with the time, but with such a beginning... you should see that by yourself.

They may not always share the familiarity with economics but both these shows take place in a fantasy setting. And from that setting will be mysteries and discoveries to be unraveled. The two main protagonists shares an unusual yet close relationship with one another. In their world, they discover many innovations and crosses paths with others through a type of journey. There are some animal symbolism and motifs throughout both series although Escha & Logy plays it mostly off as comedy. Spice and Wolf on the other hand has additional elements of romance. I recommend both fantasy series for those who are interested in a  read more

Although .hack is virtual, both are high fantasy adventure series that hold many mysteries to the characters worlds.

There are two main protags: a hero who is sort of a cross between and adventurer and the brave one (Logy and Zen have the same hair color to boot) and a heroine who is somewhat bubbly and friendly but is well-versed in their profession (Escha and Shirayuki, an alchemist and herbalist, are similar jobs that require chemistry and biology to understand) The settings are also similar as to a town full of people who go along with their lives as the protags and troupe of friends (Each series have their own supporting cast) go around solving problems and going on quests and adventures!

Both shows have similiar atmosphere: post-apocalyptic, yet warm and peaceful. Both are an interesting mixture of cute slice-of-life *and* a good story with plot, journey and destination. In the past of the world dwells something mysterious, and we recieve clues through the story. Both shows praise creativity and labour, be it building bridges and houses in Kemono Friends or saving apple orchards with alchemy in Escha to Logy. Still, both also have enough action. Cute characters also included =).

- Both series are adaptation from a game. - both series focus on understanding the mysteries of their worlds. While tales of the abyss focus more action and adventure, Escha & Logy no Atelier: Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi focus more on fullfilling quests just like in a real game.

If you're watching Shield Hero and enjoying the lighter moments of Naofumi crafting & helping people, then Atelier is a fantasy JRPG franchise entirely about crafting & helping people and Escha & Logy is its only anime adaptation. That said, Shield Hero also gets quite dark whereas Atelier is very lighthearted.

While Gargantia has more action both series have similar feelings to them. One of the central characters is introduced to a time or place which is so different from the decidedly less peaceful reality they were use to. But there are questions to be had, like both series and their ancient but advanced technology floating around.

Both are set in a fantasy world that holds the presence of a mysterious object in the sky as a prominent element. Romance and adventure are also present in both.

Strange technology exists in the worlds of both Tales of the Abyss and Escha & Logy. There are innovative concepts involved with certain inventions that are present in their stories. Tales of the Abyss adapts more of an adventurous scenario while Escha & Logy has more creative gimmicks. The main female characters are curious and is eager explore their world to discover its origins. If you're into fantasy stories with a colorful cast of characters in a world with diverse concepts, then give both a try.

Humanity is dwindling and is in desperate need of resources in order to survive in both series. The setting is very similar and and both hold secrets and mysterious places. They both have girls with pink hair and green eyes as the main protagonists who are employed in a position that plays a vital role to the functioning of their town.
