Strange+

Recommendation: Not everyone is going to enjoy the humor in this show, but each episode is a 3 minute rush of pure Looney Tunes-esque insanity. I can't possibly explain to you what the fuck I just watched, but it's worth seeing for yourself.

Positives:

+ Rapid fire jokes and gags come at you relentlessly from the second you start an episode. There is no filler, plot or character development, it's all comedy all the time. The jokes might have gotten old if the episodes were longer than 3 minutes, but it's the perfect length for this type of series.

+ Funny meta-humor and inside jokes

+ Absurd ... sense of humor that emphatically discards any notion of realism. Much closer to the aforementioned Looney Tunes than to other anime in its presentation and type of jokes.

Negatives:

- The 3 minute length and dense layering of jokes means everyone sounds like they're talking at 2x speed and it can be hard to follow at times.

- Everyone is screaming all the time and it's just an immensely chaotic show overall. Not necessarily a bad thing, but might be for some.

- Sometimes strays into "lol so random!" territory with its gags and they don't always land, especially the parts with Takumi taking his clothes off

Impulsive... Ridiculous... Crazy... Funny... and truly STRANGE.

Strange+ only has 12 episodes. So, don't expect much of a plot or character development.
What you should expect and be ready for is 12 episodes of crazy fun!!

1. Each and every character has their quirks. They're all unique and hilarious.
2. Every episode brings you a new story. They don't necessarily link together, but it really doesn't matter. It feels like you're going on a new adventure every episode.
If you prefer an actual, lengthy plot with build up and a definite climax, then this might not be for you.
3. Throughout all 12 episodes, I legit found myself laughing out loud ... lol
Which is why I gave enjoyment a 10/10.
4. There are some sexual jokes, so if you know you'll be uncomfortable with sexual references, then you have been warned :)


Strange+ is actually such a weird anime. I wouldn't recommend watching it with family, friends or in public. Personally, I watched it alone in the corner of my room hahaha
Because there are some sexual jokes and content in the anime, I just couldn't bring myself to watch it in public;;

BUT PLEASE. GIVE IT A GO :) As a comedic anime, it is pure genius. I'm so glad I stumbled across this!

Overall: 9/10!!

Like "Cuticle Tantei Inaba" before it, Strange+ is a "gag comedy" about a detective agency that, for the most part, really doesn't do much detective work.

Nothing really gets explained herein: Kou finding Takumi and what had happened before that. Miwa outside being a pair of boobs. How old Dorothy really is, and her connection to Ozu. And Rusty Nail not having her own show.

It's a gag comedy where the creator(s) behind it expect you to laugh and not much else.
