Landlock

Both Landlock and Nausicaa are post apocolyptic sci-fi/fantasy and have similar themes such as war. both anime also have a teenage female main character(s). 

Both anime handle similar themes such as war and nature. the two also feature a female character torn between the side her adoptive family and the her true origins with the side of the protagonist. plus, there's a scene in the climax of the film which involves a giant monster rising from the canape of a forest/jungle. 

the artist of the original Ghost in the Shell maga, Masamune Shirow, was a character designer for Landlock. 

Similar OVA setup of an evil empire versus innocent rural villages and their boy hero. Same blend of JRPG fantasy designs with cyberpunk-esque technology/robots. Roughly the same level of quality though I believe Madara edges out Landlock.
